CATO™ Protective Cover for Flush-Mounted Manual Stations – Safety & Durability

CATO™ cover for flush-mounted manual pull station, made of red injection-molded HDPE. The cover kit includes a plastic frame, a breakable window with a scored acrylic panel to access to the pull station, as well as screws and wall anchors. This cover is designed for indoor and outdoor use.

This cover protects manual pull stations from impacts, and helps prevent false fire alarms without restricting access in case of emergency. The cover's window must be broken to access the pull station. A galvanized steel breaker bar is included to safely shatter the window. The breaker bar is attached to the cover with a steel cable to ensure it’s there when needed.

The use of a pull station cover requires two steps to reach and trigger the fire alarm. As a result, a single-action exposed pull station becomes a double-action pull station.

All labeling on the cover is in English only.

Sylprotec offers a wide array of signs for fire safety. In Quebec, the law requires that any signage be either in French only, or in both official languages. To make this economical cover compliant with language laws, simply add a French language sign such as item (EI702).

Maintenance and lifetime:

Some basic practices should be adopted to maintain manual pull station covers. It is recommended to wash the cover with lukewarm water and a gentle soap. The manufacturer strongly advises not to use steel pads since they will scratch the surface and might affect the legibility of the label. It also is not recommended to use strong cleaning products to clean this cover. HDPE is highly resistant to alcohols, acids and oil-based products, but not to oxidizers.
