This manual pull station is the most common physical control element in fire alarm systems. As a "single-stage" model, one action (pulling the lever) is all it takes to instantly trigger the general alarm signal throughout the building. It is a rugged, reliable device designed to be immediately recognizable to occupants during an emergency.
Size:
width 79 mm x height 116 mm x depth 37 mm from the wall.
(width 3 1/8 po x height 4 9/16 po x depth 1 15/32 po from the wall.)
Requires 30V AC or 60V DC, 3 Amp power supply.
Please note that fire alarms can only be installed by a certified electrician. Sylprotec does not offer fire alarm installations.
Immediate Activation: Designed for rapid action without confusion. Ideal for environments where an immediate evacuation is required upon the discovery of a fire.
Rugged Construction: Usually made of die-cast metal or high-impact polycarbonate, built to last for decades in commercial or industrial settings.
Maximum Visibility: Finished in vibrant red with contrasting white lettering for quick identification, even in low-light or smoky conditions.
Secure Reset: Once activated, the handle remains in the "down" position until reset with a special key (typically a hex key or a CAT-30 type key), preventing unauthorized resets or tampering.
Versatile Compatibility: Equipped with gold-plated or high-quality contacts (Normally Open) compatible with the majority of fire alarm control panels (FACP).
Type: Single Action (Single Stage).
Material: Die-cast metal or heavy-duty plastic (depending on the specific variant).
Mounting: Designed for a standard single-gang electrical box.
Operating Voltage: Compatible with 12V to 120V AC/DC systems.
Certifications: ULC Listed (Underwriters Laboratories of Canada), meeting Building Code requirements.
Mounting Height: Must be installed according to local building codes (generally between 1.1 m and 1.4 m from the finished floor level).
Strategic Location: Must be placed at every floor exit and along exit routes so that a person does not have to travel more than 30 meters to reach one.
Clearance: Access must never be obstructed by furniture, boxes, or decorative elements.
In a single-stage station, pulling the lever triggers the general alarm everywhere immediately. In a two-stage station, pulling the lever sends a silent signal to a monitoring station or triggers a "pre-alarm," and a key is required to initiate the general building-wide alarm.
While some older models used a glass rod or plate, most modern models are "pull-lever" type. An optional internal glass rod is often used simply as a visual deterrent against vandalism; if it's broken, it indicates the station has been tampered with.
Vandalism Protection: If the station is located in an area prone to false alarms (such as schools or public arenas), it is highly recommended to install a "Stopper" cover (a clear polycarbonate shield with a local alarm) over the pull station.
Annual Testing: The mechanical and electrical integrity of every manual station must be verified during the mandatory annual inspection of your fire alarm system to ensure it will function when needed.
