Safe installation and use of the heater

Plug the heater directly into a 120 V wall outlet on a 15 A or larger circuit, with no other appliance on the same circuit; never use an extension cord or power strip. Stand it upright on a smooth, level, non-combustible surface, never on a rug, carpet or vinyl flooring. Keep combustible materials at least 3 ft (0.9 m) from the front and away from the sides and rear. Use it indoors only, in a dry location, with a working smoke alarm nearby; do not leave it running unattended and unplug it when not in use. If the caution light comes on, turn off and unplug the unit, let it cool for 10 minutes, then check that nothing blocks the grille before plugging it back in. A slight odour is normal during first use. Clean the outside with a damp cloth, with the unit unplugged and cool.
