A miscalculation is one of the most common causes of serious injuries at height, even with compliant equipment.

The single-leg lanyard suits fixed single-anchor workstations and restraint applications where the worker does not move between several anchor points. For repeated transitions at height where 100% tie-off is required, choose a double-leg Y lanyard instead.
Adding the lanyard (4 ft), the absorber deployment (4 ft), the worker height (6 ft) and a safety margin (1.5 ft), you need about 15.5 ft (4.7 m) of clearance below an overhead anchorage.
