This 3M DBI-SALA single-leg Kevlar web lanyard is designed for work at height where arc flash exposure must be considered. Model 1246599C combines a 6 ft lanyard with an internal shock absorber to help manage fall arrest. Its single-leg design is suited to work positions where one connection is used with a compatible harness and anchorage point.
This lanyard is relevant for electrical work, grinding, welding, construction, general industry, metal fabrication, utilities, transportation, oil and gas and mining. It must be selected according to the hazard assessment, fall protection program and compatible components used on the jobsite. Its Kevlar webbing is intended for environments where a standard lanyard may not be the best choice.
Inspect the lanyard, webbing, shock absorber, labels and connectors before each use. Confirm that the lanyard is compatible with the harness, anchorage and jobsite procedures. Any lanyard showing abnormal wear or that has arrested a fall must be removed from service according to the applicable instructions.
Model 1246599C has a working length of 6 ft, or 1.82 m.
The listed range is 132 to 310 lb, or 59.9 to 140.6 kg, including clothing, tools and equipment.
The lanyard is made with Kevlar webbing and a web lifeline.
Yes. Model 1246599C is listed as compliant with CSA Z259.11.
Both the anchorage connection and harness connection use snap hooks.
A electrician working at height near energized conductors connecting with this DBI-SALA 3M lanyard completes personal protection with a flame-resistant garment (V340) required on this type of site, a helmet (TA222) with an integrated chin strap, cut-resistant gloves (GSSXPU3OF), safety eyewear (YAS1103) and corded earplugs (OA1101) that stay around the neck and cannot drop from height.
For the lanyard to work in a complete fall arrest system, plan a DBI-SALA 3M harness (FPH140204XCAP), a DBI-SALA 3M fixed anchor (FPA2101004C), a second DBI-SALA 3M beam anchor (FPA2100159), a 100 ft RollGliss R550 rescue (FPLR5503325) and descent device for emergency lowering, a DANGER barricade tape (ECT3YE7) to cordon off the ground area and the sign (ECO130) reminding that the harness is mandatory.
