The Smart Lock system uses a motion-sensing mechanism to distinguish normal work movements from an actual fall. This technology reduces nuisance lock-ups while ensuring immediate arrest during a fall. Ideal for scaffolding, mezzanines, and elevated platforms where sudden movements are frequent.

Maximum arresting force: 1,350 lbf / 6 kN (workers 130-310 lb) and 1,800 lbf / 8 kN (up to 420 lb). Zinc-plated steel swivel snap hook for easy connection to the dorsal D-ring.

Housing: glass-filled nylon, a robust lightweight thermoplastic for industrial environments. Integrates IRF (RFID) technology for inventory management and inspection traceability. Total weight: 11.77 lb (5.34 kg).

The cable is made of galvanized steel, a zinc-treated metal material designed to resist corrosion. Unlike textile webbing, a steel cable offers superior resistance to friction, sharp edges, and sparks. Galvanization ensures extended longevity in industrial environments exposed to moisture.

About the anchor point and fall clearance distance

The anchor point must always be above the dorsal D-ring of the harness and positioned vertically relative to the user. The worker should remain below the anchor within a 30-degree angle.

With a 30 ft length, total fall clearance is significant. Always consult the manufacturer's manual to calculate minimum required clearance before use.

Smart Lock Self-Retracting Lifeline Inspection

Check the proper functioning of the Smart Lock mechanism before each use. Look for deterioration, wear, or damage. A qualified person must inspect periodically. Recommended service life: 5 years. Visit the Service tab for inspection services.

Any equipment subjected to a fall or impact must be taken out of service.

Maintenance and Cleaning of the Galvanized Smart Lock Lifeline

Clean with mild soap and warm water (37°C). No bleach or abrasives. Air dry. Fully retract when not in use.

Is this product compatible with a standard harness?

Yes, the lifeline connects to the harness dorsal D-ring via the swivel snap hook. Compatible with all CSA and ANSI compliant harnesses. Verify that the harness is also rated for the required capacity.
