Peakworks 6 ft leading-edge self-retracting lifeline with Dyneema webbing
The Peakworks leading-edge self-retracting lifeline (LE SRL) is a personal fall limiter equipped with an external energy absorber, with a length of 6 ft (1.83 m). Its webbing is made of Dyneema®, a material renowned for its exceptional cut resistance, making it suitable for leading-edge applications near sharp edges. It retracts automatically to reduce the arrest distance.
Peakworks product code: V845622006LE, model SRL-75105-6LE. This lifeline complies with ANSI Z359.14-2014 Class B and CSA Z259.2.2-2017. Designed for leading-edge (LE) applications, it protects against sharp edges according to the manual's conditions of use.
It is fitted with two steel carabiners: a standard one with a 7/8 in (22.22 mm) opening and a semi-automatic one, self-locking with double action. With a vertical anchorage, this fall limiter can support a worker weighing 310 lb (140 kg), including clothing, tools and equipment. About the anchorage point
The anchorage point must be positioned according to the manufacturer's instructions for leading-edge applications. The user must assess the fall distance, the clearance below the worker and the anchorage strength (5000 lb). For leading-edge applications, the anchorage may be at foot level (per the manual). Self-retracting lifeline inspection
The worker is responsible for performing a routine inspection before each use. The worker must check the retraction and locking of the webbing, the fall indicator, the carabiners, and note any sign of degradation, wear or breakage. Replace the equipment at the first sign of failure. This SRL should also be inspected periodically by a qualified person other than the worker, according to the manufacturer's frequency and conditions. Self-retracting lifeline maintenance
For cleaning, use a mild soap and lukewarm water (37 °C). Do not use bleach or abrasive or chemical products. Keep the mechanism clean and dry. Air dry, without excessive heat, in a clean environment. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight and to any source of contamination.
