3M TR-6710N Versaflo HEPA Filter for TR-600 PAPR - Case of 40 units

The 3M Versaflo TR-6710N filter is a high-efficiency (HE) particulate filter, designed specifically for 3M Versaflo powered air purifying respirators (PAPR) in the TR-600 and TR-800 series.

3M manufacturer code: 7100019288, model: TR-6710N-40

Special Order Item — This product is not kept in permanent stock. It is ordered specifically based on demand. Lead times apply depending on supplier availability dates.

Each filter is identified by its magenta color code and provides filtration efficiency greater than 99.97% per NIOSH test method 42 CFR 84. It also complies with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 and CSA Z94.4, meeting the most stringent regulatory requirements in Canadian and American workplaces. Made in Canada, it attaches directly to the motorized blower without tools and clicks into place to confirm secure installation.

This case of 40 filters is the ideal solution for organizations that need to manage their respiratory protection inventory efficiently while benefiting from an optimized cost per unit.

Each TR-6710N filter has a useful service life of 60 months from the date of manufacture, provided it is stored in its original packaging in a clean, dry environment.

Replacement is indicated when the blower's clogging indicator turns red or the low-flow alarm triggers below 170 L/min. The filter must never be cleaned with compressed air or vacuuming, as this would irreversibly damage the filter medium.

In welding or spark-exposure environments, use of the arrestor (TR-662) is mandatory to protect the filter from hot particles. The housing (TR-6700FC) is strongly recommended to extend filter service life in demanding environments.

Advantages

Industries and worksites where this filter is required

  • Heavy industry and metalworking: protection against metal dusts, crystalline silica, and welding fumes. Use of a PAPR with HE filter is recommended by OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 and CSA Z94.4 in areas exceeding occupational exposure limits.

  • Healthcare and hospital settings: protection against bioaerosols and infectious agents in isolation rooms. The HE filter provides the highest filtration level available for PAPR systems.

  • General manufacturing and pharmaceutical: removal of fine particles generated during mixing, packaging, or handling of active powders.

  • Food processing and sanitation: protection during intensive cleaning operations involving aerosolized chemicals or biocontaminants.

  • Construction and civil engineering: protection against crystalline silica during cutting, grinding, or demolition of concrete and masonry, in compliance with OSHA and provincial requirements.

Easy installation and reliability

  • Tool-free installation: the filter locks directly onto the TR-600 or TR-800 blower with an audible click. Removal is accomplished with a single press of the blue side latch.

  • Integrated filter loading indicator on the blower: LED indicators display filter status in real time. The audible and visual alarm alerts the user before flow drops to an unsafe level.

  • Case of 40 units: simplified inventory management for safety teams. Each filter is individually packaged to protect seal integrity until use.

Compliance and regulatory protection

  • NIOSH 42 CFR 84 compliant: HE filtration exceeding 99.97% of tested particles. Magenta color code is immediately identifiable in the field.

  • Compliant with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 and CSA Z94.4: meets regulatory requirements for respiratory protection in Canada and the United States.

  • 60-month guaranteed shelf life: each filter carries an expiration date. Use only filters within their validity period to maintain NIOSH approval.

FAQ - Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the case of 40 and the 5-pack?

The TR-6710N filter is available in two formats: the 5-unit pack (RVTR6710N) for small teams or occasional needs, and the case of 40 units (RVTR671040) for organizations using Versaflo PAPRs on a continuous basis. The case of 40 offers a reduced per-unit cost and simplifies inventory management. The filter itself is identical in both formats - same filtration level, same NIOSH approval, same 60-month shelf life. The choice between the two formats depends solely on usage volume and replacement frequency in your work environment.

Is this filter compatible with TR-800 series devices?

Yes. The TR-6710N filter is compatible with 3M Versaflo respirators in the TR-600 and TR-800 / TR-800N series. It attaches the same way on both platforms, directly onto the motorized blower unit. Before installation, thoroughly inspect the plastic housing and the inner circular seal to ensure they are intact. If the filter has been dropped or mishandled, reinspect it completely before use. If there is any doubt about filter integrity, replace it immediately without hesitation.

When should the TR-6710N filter be replaced?

Replacement is required in four situations: when the blower low-flow alarm activates (lower LED flashes red and audible alarm sounds), when the filter shows visible cracks, deformations, or damage, when the inner sealing ring is compromised, or when the 60-month expiration date is reached. Never attempt to extend filter life by cleaning it: compressed air, blowing, or vacuuming permanently damage the filter media and void the NIOSH approval. When replacing, power off the blower and hold the unit downward to minimize contamination of the air intake.

Complementary suggestions

For complete protection on industrial worksites, consider these additional items: gloves (G408) for wet and chemical environments, eyewear (YA11329) CSA-compliant safety glasses with clear lenses, earmuffs (OPH6A) Peltor 21 dB for noisy environments, a helmet (TA222) Type 2 safety helmet for work at height and heavy industry, and a complete system (RVTR600ECK) PAPR TR-600-ECK for new installations.

Under "Accessories" at the bottom of the page, you will find accessories specific to this filter: the TR-6700FC filter housing (RVTR6700FC) essential for protecting the filter from physical damage, TR-6600 foam prefilters (RVTR6600) to extend the main filter service life, and TR-6710N filters in 5-pack (RVTR6710N) for small occasional replenishments.
