3M manufacturer’s code: TR-6530N
3M HEPA combined filter/cartridge for protection from organic vapours and acid gases, and solid particles. Compatible with 3M TR-600 Versaflo powered air purifying respirator (PAPR). Sold box of units. Please allow 2 to 3 weeks for delivery.
Designed to provide versatile protection, this combined cartridge is manufactured by 3M and carries the reference TR‑6530N. It combines a high‑efficiency HEPA filter with a cartridge for organic vapors and acid gases, allowing it to efficiently capture particles, dust, fumes, and gaseous contaminants. Its operation is based on simultaneous filtration of particles and gases, ideal for industrial, pharmaceutical, chemical, or food‑processing environments. Compatible with 3M Versaflo TR‑600 and TR‑800 PAPR systems, it guarantees stable performance and complete respiratory protection.
TR-600 combined cartridges don’t require the use of a filter cover like their prior model. Even without the filter cover, this model of cartridge is NIOSH approved. It is however recommended to use the cover filter RVTR6500FC to help protect the filter/cartridge from physical damage and liquid spill. The RVTR6300FC filter cover is also used to hold the RVTR6600 prefilter or RVTR662 spark arrestor in place in order to extend the service life of the cartridge.
This type of cartridge has two indissolubly linked parts, that is, a HEPA filter which protects one from airborne particles and an active charcoal part which protects one from gases and vapours. The filter is certified HEPA which means it protects from 99,97% of solid, liquid, oil based and non-oil based particles in the air. As for the active charcoal part, it is the most efficient and cost-efficient method of filtering airborne contaminants on the market. 3M RVTR6530N cartridges have been designed to protect one from organic vapours such as xylene, benzene, spray paint, pesticides and acid gases such as chlorine dioxide (ClO₂), sulfur dioxide (SO₂), hydrogen fluoride (HF), hydrochloric acid (HCl) and many others. The RVTR6530N cartridges for acid gases can protect one from hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) for a limited time. Without the right equipment, H₂S is extremely hazardous. These cartridges are meant to protect one in case of emergency evacuation due to a release of hydrogen sulfide. One must of course, throw away the cartridges exposed to that gas.
Choosing the TR‑6530N cartridge means investing in a durable, versatile solution that meets Canadian professional standards.
This cartridge stands out for its unique combination of a high‑efficiency HEPA filter and protection against organic vapors (OV) and acid gases (AG). It is exclusively compatible with 3M Versaflo TR‑600 and TR‑800 powered air‑purifying respirators, ensuring optimal sealing and consistent filtration. Designed for environments with multiple hazards, it meets the high quality and safety standards required in Canada.
This type of cartridge is ideal for chemical manufacturing, glass etching, paper manufacturing and laboratory work. The HEPA filter of this combined cartridge also protects from solid particles loosen in the air and aerosol liquid particles.
It protects from oil based particles, radioactive particles (uranium, plutonium), heavy metals particles (lead, cadmium, arsenic), and carcinogenic particles (4,4’methylenedianiline (MDA)). HEPA filters protect one from silica, the second main cause of chronic respiratory problems after asbestos. It is also highly advised to stay away from environments that exceed the limits set by the competent authorities. The choice of facepiece is important since it has a direct influence on the limits of your equipment.
CAUTION: RVTR6530N cartridges don’t protect one from carbon monoxide (CO) and carbon dioxide (CO₂). If one has to work in an environment that may contain those two gases, one has to find another way to protect himself.
This type of cartridges helps prevent the inhalation of certain airborne biological particles like mold, Bacillus anthracis (Anthrax), Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Tubercle bacillus Koch) the main causative agent of tuberculosis, pandemic flues (H5N1, H1N1), etc. However, it cannot eliminate the risk of contracting infection, illness or disease. Of course, whenever one has to protect himself only from biological particles, one should definitely opt for something else than this equipment. HEPA cartridges are by design made for workers who must protect themselves from biological particles on top of being protected from gases, vapours and airborne particles.
One should never use a respirator of any kind whenever concentrations of gases and vapors exceed the admissible limit. Avoid sandblasting and oxygen deprived environments (an atmosphere with less than 19,5 % oxygen). It is recommended to avoid environments that exceed the limits of your equipment with respect to the permissible exposure limit set by the CNESST or any other government regulation applicable.
Studies have shown that in case of contaminant mixture, all the vapors are absorbed simultaneously by the granulated charcoal inside the cartridges. One must take into account the presence of a contaminants mixture since the most volatile solvent will saturate the cartridge. The cartridge service life and one’s degree of protection will then depend on the concentration and the nature of the contaminants in the air.
Since this is a disposable product, there is no maintenance. The manufacturer’s limitations must be followed. One may store its cartridges in an airtight bag or container since even not in use, the cartridge absorbs whatever contaminant there may be in the air.
In theory, one should use the RVTR971 airflow indicator to assess the state of the equipment. However, the motor/blower is equipped with a system that alerts you in case the filter is soon to be saturated; one must thus change the cartridge. Please note that that system prevents only the full saturation of the HEPA filter part of the cartridge. Whenever one may smell or taste the contaminant from which he protects oneself from, the charcoal part is saturated; one must thus change both cartridges again.
No, it is compatible only with 3M Versaflo TR‑600 and TR‑800 powered air‑purifying respirators.
Yes, it combines protection against organic vapors, acid gases, and solid particles thanks to its integrated HEPA filter.
The frequency depends on contamination levels and usage intensity. It must be replaced as soon as it shows signs of saturation or according to your company’s internal protocols.
