This red Pioneer surveyor's jacket is built for the field: rugged, breathable and designed for surveying and geomatics professionals. Made of 600 denier polyurethane-coated polyester oxford, it stands up to the elements and daily wear while its StarTech retroreflective stripes improve visibility in low-light conditions. Its many pockets and radio strap hold your measuring instruments and essential accessories. Compliant with CSA Z96-22 Class 1 Level 2 and ANSI/ISEA 107-2020 Class 1 Type O. Available in sizes S to 5XL (select your size from the drop-down menu above).
In red, this jacket is made of rugged, resistant 600 denier polyurethane-coated polyester oxford. It features StarTech retroreflective tape of 50 mm (2 in) alternating with fluorescent yellow stripes: 2 vertical stripes at the front, 2 vertical stripes on the sides, 2 X-shaped stripes at the back and a horizontal stripe at the waist, for maximum visibility. The front closure with brass snap buttons provides a secure hold.
The jacket has a chest-mounted radio strap, several pockets for instruments and a D-ring slot, ideal for attaching various fall protection equipment.
This jacket complies with CSA Z96-22 Class 1 Level 2 and ANSI/ISEA 107-2020 Class 1 Type O. Class 1 is intended for workers in low-risk areas such as parking lots and warehouses. Type O ("Off-Road") designates garments for daytime visibility, used off public roadways; what sets this jacket apart is the presence of retroreflective stripes on a red background.
Note that red workwear is not as visible as fluorescent or bright colours for daytime high visibility. However, the silver-grey retroreflective stripes are highly visible in low natural or artificial light, because they reflect light back toward its source (flashlight, vehicle headlights, etc.). They provide the most safety at dawn, dusk and night, but do not improve visibility in daylight.
The surveyor's jacket is designed to provide visibility and protection in various work environments requiring good visibility for safety, notably:
Keep the high-visibility safety garment clean and in good condition: contaminated or dirty retroreflective materials offer poorer visibility. Make sure the jacket fits well; replace it if it is torn, soiled or worn. For care, always refer to the garment label instructions.
Because a red background is not a fluorescent high-visibility colour. Under CSA Z96-22, such a garment is rated Class 1, intended for low-risk areas, even when it carries retroreflective stripes.
Type O means "Off-Road": use away from public roadways, with visibility intended for daytime. This jacket stands out with its retroreflective stripes on a red background, useful in low light too.

To ensure safety in the field, the surveyor gears up from head to hands: a construction helmet (TA14LR) against falling objects, SecureFit series 400 glasses (YASF401) against splashes and UV, antinoise earplugs (OA101) and Zenith cut-resistant gloves (GZ13PEHPFN) for handling equipment.
Under "Accessories" at the bottom of the page, add a CAN/CSA Z1220-17 high-risk first aid kit (TR03E), a complementary minor-burn kit (TR07), a 10 lb ABC powder extinguisher (EXABC10) and an Endura goat-leather winter glove (G909-L).
