The Vestil safety bollard is a fully welded steel post designed to absorb forklift impacts and protect buildings, racking, machinery, doorways and pedestrian walkways. Finished in baked-on safety yellow powder coat with a black and yellow band at the top, it is capped with a removable black cap. Its 8 x 8 in base plate, slotted for 3/4 in anchor bolts (sold separately), allows for a permanent installation on a concrete slab.
To dress up and protect a bollard already in place, see also the cover (CB464YR) that slides over an existing steel bollard.
Installed in front of dock doors, racking, machinery, tanks or pedestrian walkways, this bollard protects equipment and people from forklift and vehicle impacts, indoors and outdoors.
At least once a month: clean the bollard, check that the anchor bolts are tight and replace any that are damaged or corroded, inspect for cracks, corrosion or impact damage, touch up paint on bare metal, and replace the bollard immediately if it is damaged.
No. The bollard is drilled for 3/4 in anchor bolts, sold separately; their length and diameter should be determined by the building's engineer.
This is the diameter of the steel tube (manufacturer's designation); the 6-1/2 in model is heavier-duty and offered in the 42 and 48 in heights.
The removable cap allows for optional concrete filling to add weight to the bollard, if needed.
Yes, the baked-on powder-coat finish is designed for both indoor and outdoor use.
Position the bollard, mark the location of the 4 base plate slots, drill with a masonry bit to the depth specified by the anchor manufacturer, then install the bolts.
The supervisor having these Vestil bollards installed at loading docks equips the crew with a class 2 traffic vest (VV53), A3 Kevlar cut-resistant gloves (GS13KFNT), SecureFit SF202 glasses (YASF202), Laser Lite earplugs (OA1101) and posts the "Look out for forklift" notice (EOS509) at the entrance of the area.
During installation and around the bollards, mark the passage with a 36 in cone (EPTCONE36), a red and white striped warning tape (ECT750R), a half-dome convex mirror (M88) for T intersections and a 10 ft extendable aluminum barrier (EPT999). To dress the bollard, see the Innoplast (CB464YR) bollard cover; the 4-1/2 in Kleton KI293 (EBKI293-36) bollard and the square-tube heavy (EBKD125) duty bollard are available for other layouts.
