Manufacturer 3M, model 60922
The 3M combined cartridge is designed to provide complete respiratory protection against acid gases and solid and liquid particles. Compatible with respiratory masks from the 6000, 7000 and FF-400 series, it meets the demands of demanding industrial settings. Thanks to its advanced filtration technology, it allows safe work in atmospheres contaminated by acid gases such as chlorine, sulfur dioxide, or hydrochloric acid. This product is sold in pairs, ensuring bilateral and balanced protection.
Maximum protection and optimal comfort.
The 3M cartridge model 60922 is approved according to NIOSH standards and offers dual protection against acid gases and particles. It integrates a P100 filter, ensuring filtration efficiency greater than 99.97%. Its lightweight and compact design allows prolonged use without discomfort. It attaches securely to masks from the 6000, 7000 and FF-400 series thanks to a bayonet connection system, ensuring a perfect seal.
To install the 3M combined cartridge on your respiratory mask, align the bayonet connectors with the mask ports, then turn until fully locked. This intuitive system ensures quick and secure attachments. It is essential to check the integrity of the seals and ensure that the cartridges are properly positioned before each use. Proper installation guarantees optimal protection against acid gases and particles.
This type of cartridge is ideal for work in the chemical industries, glass engraving, paper manufacturing, and laboratories. The filter in this cartridge provides protection against solid particles released into the air. It is also effective against liquid particles from oily aerosols. They offer reliable protection against aerosol particles that may contain oil, radioactive particles (uranium and plutonium), heavy metal particles (lead, cadmium, arsenic), low-level asbestos, and carcinogenic particles (4,4’-methylenedianiline (MDA)). This type of cartridge should not be used on a mask in an environment exceeding a concentration greater than 10 times the permissible exposure limit set by the CNESST.
WARNING: This type of cartridge does not protect against carbon monoxide (CO) and carbon dioxide (CO₂). If there is a possibility of these gases being present in your work environment, other means of protection must be used.
These cartridges can help reduce inhalation exposure to certain airborne biological particles, such as mold, Bacillus anthracis (anthrax), Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Koch’s bacillus) responsible for tuberculosis, pandemic flu viruses (H5N1, H1N1), etc. However, they cannot completely eliminate the risk of infection, pathology, or disease. Of course, when protection is needed only against biological particles, this type of equipment is not recommended. 3M P100 cartridges are designed for workers who may need protection from biological particles in addition to protection from certain gases and/or vapors and airborne particles.
Do not use if the user has a beard or suffers from a condition that may prevent direct contact between the edge of the mask and the face. It is not recommended to use these cartridges if there is a concentration exceeding the permissible limit of gases and vapors. Do not use when particles are released during sandblasting and aerosol concentrations exceed 10 times the permissible exposure limit set by the CNESST or any other applicable government regulation. This type of respiratory protection cartridge should only be used in areas that do not present a risk of oxygen deficiency.
Studies have shown that, in the case of contaminant mixtures, all contaminants are simultaneously absorbed on the surface of the carbon. When there is no more space, the most volatile solvent “breaks through” the cartridge. If the cartridges have not reached their saturation limit, they are reusable. It is advisable to store them in a sealed container or bag, since they absorb contaminants in the air even when not worn. The cartridges are disposable, so there is no maintenance. In principle, if it becomes difficult to breathe while wearing this type of cartridge, the filter part of the cartridge is saturated, and the cartridges must be changed. On the other hand, if you can smell and/or taste the contaminants you are protecting yourself from, the activated carbon cartridge part is saturated (broken through), so the cartridge must also be changed at that time. It is recommended to follow the limits established by the manufacturer.
Use 3M combined cartridges only in environments where acid gas concentrations are known and controlled. Do not use them in oxygen-deficient atmospheres or in case of fire. Always check compatibility with your 3M respiratory mask from the 6000, 7000, or FF-400 series. Follow safety instructions and manufacturer recommendations to ensure optimal protection. Wear the mask continuously in contaminated areas and avoid removing the cartridges during exposure.
They are only compatible with masks from the 6000, 7000 and FF-400 series equipped with bayonet connectors.
No, they are specifically designed to filter acid gases and particles. For organic vapors, an appropriate cartridge must be used.
The lifespan depends on the environment and frequency of use. It is advisable to replace the cartridges as soon as the smell of gases becomes noticeable or according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
