The Handyman® 300D Viking waterproof pants, in high-visibility orange, are designed for extreme conditions. Made of 300-denier polyester oxford coated with PVC and fitted with silver retroreflective stripes framed in fluorescent yellow, they comply with the CSA Z96-15 class 2 level 2 standard when worn alone, and reach class 3 with the matching Handyman jacket (VP230). Perfectly watertight thanks to their 10,000 mm rating, they are ideal for daily use in heavy weather. Available in sizes from small (S) to triple extra-large (3XL) via the drop-down menu above. Viking manufacturer code: 6327PO.
These polyester oxford waterproof pants are made with 300-denier yarns, the inside laminated with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) for waterproofing. The manufacturer gives them a 10,000 mm waterproof rating: the pants withstand a 10 m water column before the first drops pass through the fabric. All seams are taped and heat-sealed. The manufacturer rates their service life at about twenty-five washes.
These fluorescent orange waterproof pants feature two 50 mm (2 in) wide silver retroreflective stripes framed by thin fluorescent yellow stripes, located at ankle height.
Fluorescent yellow (safety yellow-green) is highly visible in daylight and in low natural light (dawn, dusk), offering high contrast against the background. Fluorescent orange is highly visible in daylight and under strong artificial lighting. The silver retroreflective stripes return light toward its source (flashlight, vehicle headlights, etc.) and provide maximum safety at dawn, dusk and at night, without increasing visibility in full daylight.
These pants are easily worn over warm clothing while ensuring good air circulation thanks to their loose fit. They have no fly and no pockets. Velcro®-adjustable ventilation openings on the sides, near the ankles, allow fitting over work or winter boots. These pants are not flame-resistant.
The PVC-laminated polyester oxford pants are made with 300-denier yarns, giving them a medium weight: light enough for comfort, sturdy enough for adequate protection. Oxford is a weave widely used in industry, obtained by crossing a weft yarn and a warp yarn to create its characteristic grid. The advantage of the inner PVC lamination is perfect waterproofing, even in strong wind: PVC repels water. However, it is heavier than polyurethane, breathes less and stiffens in very cold weather.
Waterproofing is ensured by the double taped, heat-sealed seams. This type of raincoat suits workers exposed to low or moderate risks of chemical splashes: PVC is a thermoplastic polymer resistant to chemicals, oils, greases, acids, bases, solvents, oxidizers and ozone, as well as abrasion and stretching. Recommended for temperatures of -5 °C to 18 °C with precipitation and strong winds. Being non-porous, PVC keeps workers dry during torrential rain but breathes little: a sauna effect may occur, to be considered based on the effort at work.
These pants are recommended for workers operating around moving vehicles: construction workers, office staff, drivers, transport employees, etc.
Machine wash these pants on a delicate cycle in cold or lukewarm water with a mild detergent. Do not use bleach or fabric softener. Air-dry away from sunlight. Never tumble dry, iron or dry-clean.
The manufacturer rates them at 10,000 mm, meaning resistance to a 10 m water column — ideal for extreme conditions.
No, these pants have no fly and no pockets: they are worn over clothing to protect the legs from rain.
They comply with CSA Z96-15 class 2 level 2 when worn alone, and reach class 3 with the matching Handyman jacket (VP230).
The pants are available from small (S) to triple extra-large (3XL), subject to available stock.
