Professional-Grade HEPA Air Scrubbers for Contaminated Work Zones

Engineered for industrial use, the Bulldog Deluxe air scrubber features a three-stage filtration system that includes a primary filter, a secondary accordion-style filter, and a certified HEPA filter. It captures airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns with 99.97% efficiency. This unit operates in negative pressure, positive pressure, or recirculation mode, making it versatile for various remediation scenarios. Commonly referred to as a negative air machine, it is essential for controlling airborne contaminants during hazardous material removal.  It is equipped with a differential pressure gauge that indicates the saturation level of the HEPA filter. In addition, this model has the unique feature of being stackable to save space in the work area.

Abatement Technologies Manufacturer’s Code: BD2KMA

This air scrubber has three different modes: negative pressure mode, positive pressure mode, and recirculation mode. It also features two operating speeds, that is, the low speed at 1300 cfm and the high speed at 2000 cfm. This air scrubber is equipped with a differential pressure gauge and an audio 'change filter' alarm to notify it is time to change one of the filters.

It is equipped with three different filters, which overlap one another accordingly to a given order. The air scrubber comes with one set of filters, that is, a primary filter, an accordion-shaped secondary filter and a HEPA filter. It is now possible to replace the secondary filter by another secondary filter of activated coal for protection from organic vapors in low concentrations. This type of filter is particularly useful when it comes to mold decontamination work.

  • The primary filter (SAHFP) (24 in X 24 in X 1 in) captures bigger particles the size of 10 µm and more.
  • The secondary filter (SAHFS) (24 in X 24 in X 2 in) captures particles the size of 3 µm  to 10 µm.
  • The HEPA filter (SAHF) (24 in X 24 in X 6 in) captures smaller particles the size of 0.3 µm and more with 99.97% efficiency.
  • In option, a secondary filter (SAHFSOV) of activated coal for protection from organic vapors in low concentrations (24 in X 24 in X 2 in), which also captures particles the size of 3 µm  to 10 µm.

This air scrubber is certified UL94HB to comply with flammability requirements set by the responsible authorities. This air scrubber is certified ETL and meets CSA requirements as for safety standards. This equipment minimal power supply requirement is 120 V/60 Hz. Its normal operating amp is 8 A. The polymer cabinet features a 12 in diameter airflow outtake which allows for the connection of the outlet pipe. A panel opens on the front to allow a convenient filter change.

This machine weighs a total of 117 lb (53.07 kg), which is why it features two fixed and two locking 4 in diameter swivel casters. It also has four handles firmly anchored at the bottom of the device.

High-efficiency HEPA filtration and jobsite compliance.

Key features of the Bulldog Deluxe air scrubber:

The Bulldog Deluxe offers two operating speeds: 1300 cfm for low-speed and 2000 cfm for high-speed airflow. Its flame-retardant polymer cabinet is UL94HB certified and built for durability. The unit includes a differential pressure gauge and an audible filter change alarm. Filters are easily accessible via a hinged front panel. Optional activated carbon filters are available for capturing low-concentration organic vapors, especially useful in mold remediation. The HEPA filter is individually tested and certified, with a label affixed to its frame to confirm compliance.

Installation guidelines for the Bulldog Deluxe:

Installing the Bulldog Deluxe is straightforward. Place the unit in the work zone, connect the 12-inch outlet to the exhaust duct, and select the desired operating mode. The unit runs on a standard 120 V/60 Hz power supply and draws 8 amps at full capacity. Its mobility is enhanced by four casters—two fixed and two locking—and four integrated handles. For asbestos or mold removal, it is strongly recommended to perform a DOP test on-site before starting work.

Maintenance and DOP testing requirements:

To maintain optimal performance, regular maintenance and DOP testing are essential. The DOP (dispersed oil particulate) test ensures the integrity of the HEPA filter by detecting leaks through the filter media, frame, or seals. This test is mandatory for asbestos and mold remediation and must be performed:

  • Before starting any new project
  • Each time the unit is moved
  • Every four weeks if the unit remains stationary

The HEPA filter must pass the DOP test to be certified. Contact customer service for more information or to schedule on-site testing. Additional travel fees may apply.

Usage tips and air change calculations:

To ensure effective air purification, calculate the number of air scrubbers needed based on the volume of the work area and required air changes per hour. Use the following formula:

Step 1: Volume (ft³) = length × width × height Step 2: Required air changes per hour (4 in Québec, 6 elsewhere) Step 3: cfm rating of the air scrubber Step 4: Number of units = volume ÷ (15 min × cfm) Step 5: Round up to the nearest whole number

Example 1: Volume = 20,000 ft³ cfm = 1300 Units needed = 20,000 ÷ (15 × 1300) = 1.02 → round up to 2 units

Example 2: Volume = 20,000 ft³ cfm = 2000 Units needed = 20,000 ÷ (15 × 2000) = 0.66 → round up to 1 unit

These calculations assume ideal conditions. In practice, factors such as door openings, duct length, filter saturation, and power fluctuations may reduce airflow. For added safety, consider using a more powerful unit or combining two air scrubbers.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ) SAH4MA:

Is the DOP test mandatory for every job site?

Yes, it is required before starting work, after relocating the unit, and every four weeks during continuous use for asbestos or mold remediation.

How do I know when to replace the HEPA filter?

The Bulldog Deluxe features a differential pressure gauge and an audible alarm that indicates when filter replacement is necessary. A DOP test confirms filter integrity.

Can I use the Bulldog Deluxe in non-sealed environments?

Yes, but it’s recommended to increase airflow or use multiple units to compensate for pressure loss due to leaks, open doors, or long duct runs.
