Designed to offer quick and reliable repair of damaged insulation.
It is a permanent insulation and repair system that quickly and easily covers pipes, fittings, valves, ducts and other accessories. Once dry, it permanently retains its strength, shape and appearance. The use of Wet Wrap ‘N’ Seal, followed by the application of a bridging encapsulation agent, meets the requirements of the procedures specified by the National Institute of Building Sciences for proper repair of insulation and lagging.
Invest in a durable solution, simple to use and perfectly adapted to the needs of maintenance professionals.
Wet Wrap ‘N’ Seal is distinguished by its ability to create permanent and resistant encapsulation. Once dry, it retains its strength and appearance, offering reliable protection against degradation. It is compatible with finishing products such as SerpiMastic or Lag Kote to reinforce durability and mechanical resistance. Its rapid implementation, with a setting time of only two to four minutes, makes it an indispensable tool for urgent and effective interventions.
To install, simply dip the roll in clean warm water for a few seconds, then wring it out with a twisting motion. The product is then applied by covering each layer at 50%, smoothing carefully to obtain a homogeneous and solid coverage. This method guarantees perfect adhesion and durable encapsulation of insulated surfaces. The application is simple and requires only minimal tools, making it a practical solution for worksites.
Once installed, it requires little maintenance. It is recommended to regularly check the condition of the encapsulated surface and apply a finishing product such as SerpiMastic to reinforce protection. The tools used must be cleaned immediately with soapy water before the adhesive dries. The product must be stored in a dry place to preserve its properties and ensure optimal use during future interventions.
For maximum efficiency, it is advised to carefully prepare the surface before application, correcting defects and cleaning the concerned areas. The use of gloves and suitable protections is recommended to handle the product safely. In case of repair on materials containing asbestos, it is essential to respect regulations in force and to use an approved respirator. Finally, for reinforced protection, the application of a finishing encapsulants is strongly advised.
Before application of Wet Wrap ‘N’ Seal, it is essential to check the adhesion of the asbestos matrix to the support. Every surface must be corrected and cleaned carefully, without causing dispersion of asbestos fibers. In case of damaged area, apply a first layer of SerpiFlex, followed by a second layer intended to saturate the weakened part. If necessary, complete with fiberglass, mineral wool or insulating cement. The water used must remain clean at all times. This product, composed of plaster and synthetic resin, must be handled with gloves or skin protections to guarantee safety.
Hold the roll without squeezing it and immerse it in clean warm water at 20 °C for about five seconds. Then place your thumb under the edge of the roll to easily identify the starting end. Press the roll with a twisting motion to eliminate excess water, then apply it by overlapping each layer at 50%. Smooth each fold carefully to fit the contour and obtain a solid and homogeneous coating. To reinforce protection and obtain resistance comparable to leather, it is recommended to apply SerpiMastic once Wet Wrap ‘N’ Seal is dry.
The adhesive film Wet Wrap ‘N’ Seal hardens in two to four minutes from its immersion in water. Temperature influences this setting time: a variation of 5 °C modifies the duration by about fifteen seconds. After application, immediately clean tools and any drips with hot soapy water before the adhesive dries. Waste must be eliminated in accordance with local, national and federal regulations in force.
It must be stored in a dry place to preserve its properties. During work involving materials containing asbestos, wearing an approved respirator is mandatory to avoid inhalation of fibers. Protective clothing is also recommended. Asbestos removal operations must respect regulations in force, notably those of the EPA, OSHA as well as federal, state and local directives. Before any project, it is advised to consult competent organizations to guarantee a compliant and safe intervention.
