How to Install Lag-Kote II Encapsulant on a Surface Contaminated with Asbestos:

Before applying the Lag-Kote II asbestos encapsulant, it is essential to clean the surface using a HEPA vacuum or a damp cloth. Never use compressed air to avoid dispersing fibers. The product can be applied with a nylon brush, a synthetic roller (minimum 3/8 in), or an airless sprayer (2200 to 2700 PSI, 0.015 to 0.019 tip). It is recommended to stir the product until a uniform consistency is achieved. Dilution with up to 10% water is possible. Drying time to the touch is 1 to 2 hours, and recoating can be done after 8 to 16 hours at 21°C and 50% relative humidity.

How to Maintain a Surface Treated with Lag-Kote II Asbestos Encapsulant:

Once dry, Lag-Kote II forms a washable and resistant layer. For maintenance, simply clean the surface with a damp cloth or soft sponge. It is advisable to avoid abrasive products or harsh solvents. Regular inspection helps detect any cracks or degradation. In case of damage, a new coat can be applied after localized cleaning.

Usage Tips for Effective Asbestos Encapsulation:

To ensure safe encapsulation of asbestos fibers, it is recommended to wear a NIOSH-approved respirator during application, use disposable protective clothing, and ventilate the work area well. It is essential to comply with local safety and waste management regulations. The product should be stored in a dry place, between 4.5°C and 32°C. Lag-Kote II should not be used on exterior surfaces or those exposed to UV rays.
