Lag-Kote II encapsulant for surface asbestos fibers, white, sold by 20L/5 gal (US).

Lag-Kote II is a thick encapsulant for application to interior asbestos-containing materials (ACM). White finish (6420) is available. Sold in 20L/5 gal (US) containers, it is ideal for encapsulating interior lagging on pipes, boiler casings, cylinder heads and other components of heating and ventilation systems.

Lag-Kote II minimizes product drip, clean-up and waste, while providing a smooth, washable and aesthetically superior finish that prevents the release of asbestos fibers. Lag-Kote II is a flexible, 100% acrylic coating that can be applied over asbestos-containing plasters and paints, flame retardants, sprayed on galvanized metal, wood, masonry, popcorn ceilings or other sound surfaces to prevent the release of harmful asbestos fibers.

Application tools and product application:
Apply Lag-Kote II using one of the following: a brush (synthetic bristle, nylon or polyester roller), a 3/8" or larger synthetic roller, or a sprayer (airless sprayer) with a pressure of 2200 - 2700 P.S.I., with an orifice of 0.015- 0.019.

Wear a NIOSH respirator to control lead exposure. Carefully remove all accumulated dust and dirt. Use a damp mop or HEPA respirator to clean the area thoroughly.

Lag-Kote II can be diluted by adding up to 10% water. Stir Lag-Kote II thoroughly to achieve a uniform consistency. Lag-Kote can be tinted to obtain pastel colors.

Coverage is not less than 125-175 ft2 per gallon on smooth surfaces and 75-100 ft2 per gallon on porous surfaces. Touch-dry time is approximately 1-2 hours and coverage 8 - 16 hours with a temperature of 21℃ (70℉) and 50% humidity.

Restriction:
PRECAUTIONS Store in a dry place at temperatures between 4.5°C (40°F) and 32°C (90°F). Approved respirators must be used to avoid inhalation of asbestos fibers that may be present in the air. Protective clothing must be worn. Before applying this product, all applicable EPA, OSHA, federal, state and local regulations should be considered.

Maintenance and service life :
Tools and drips should be cleaned with hot, soapy water before the coating dries. Follow equipment manufacturer's instructions for cleaning spray equipment. Dispose of all waste in accordance with applicable local, state and federal regulations.
