Are you looking for a professional, effective, and safe solution for your asbestos abatement or containment work? The Fiberlock ABC Asbestos Binding Compound is more than just a product: it’s a wetting agent, temporary encapsulant, permanent encapsulant, and fire-retardant all in one. Its powerful and versatile formula is designed to reduce airborne asbestos fibers, bind residues, and protect surfaces from fire hazards. This product is extremely versatile depending on its concentration; it may be used as a wetting agent, a temporary lockdown encapsulant, a permanent encapsulant agent or a fireproof agent. It may even be used to lockdown permanently contaminated floors (outdoor). It may be used on permeable and waterproof surfaces such as thermal or acoustic insulation, flocking, cement-asbestos, soils, etc.
Fiberlock is known for its versatility in asbestos abatement projects. It combines several essential functions: a wetting agent to saturate contaminated materials, a temporary or permanent encapsulant to lock in asbestos fibers, and a fire-retardant to enhance surface safety. Its white color makes it easy to identify treated areas. It is compatible with porous surfaces such as sprayed insulation or asbestos cement, as well as non-porous surfaces like thermal or acoustic insulation. The 20-liter format is ideal for large-scale worksites.

Application of Fiberlock depends on the intended use. As a wetting agent, it should be diluted with water according to the type of material being treated. For friable materials, a 1-to-4 ratio is recommended, while for compressed materials, a 1-to-1 ratio is more suitable. As a temporary or permanent encapsulant, the dilution remains 1-to-1. The product can be applied using a manual pump sprayer or airless spray equipment, with a suitable nozzle and a pressure of around 1300 to 1400 psi. Drying time varies depending on the thickness of the layer and ambient conditions.
To ensure the product’s durability, tools should be cleaned with warm soapy water immediately after use. The Fiberlock container should be stored in a dry place, protected from freezing. Once dry, the product forms a resistant layer that requires no special maintenance. It is designed to remain effective over time, even under demanding conditions.
When using Fiberlock, it is essential to wear appropriate personal protective equipment. A mask, gloves, and protective suit are strongly recommended. Proper ventilation of the work area is also important to avoid vapor buildup. The product can be used as a final encapsulant after asbestos removal to lock residual fibers onto containment sheeting. It should not be applied to wet or frozen surfaces to ensure optimal adhesion.
