This Class A — fall arrest: 1 dorsal D-ring harness features a zinc-plated steel dorsal D-ring for optimal protection. The chest buckle is swivel-action and made of aluminum alloy for light weight and durability. Chest and leg buckles are zinc-plated steel. The harness has 5 adjustment points: 2 at the legs, 2 at the torso, and 1 at the chest. Straps are colour-coded to simplify donning, with plastic anti-fray tips at the ends to allow adjustment even with gloves. A sub-pelvic strap is included for optimal support in the event of a fall. Auto-locking retainers keep excess strap ends organized. An integrated self-retracting lifeline (SRL) adapter is also present. Certification labels are sewn on the rear left side for easy tracking and inspection.
This harness supports a maximum worker weight of 310 lb / 140.6 kg, including clothing, tools, and equipment. It complies with CSA Z259.10-18, Canada's standard governing fall arrest safety harnesses. This standard ensures the harness has been tested to withstand the forces generated during a fall and effectively protect the user.
The straps of this harness are made of polyester, a material chosen for its superior resistance to the acid chemicals found on many job sites, with a breaking strength of 6,000 lb. The padding consists of a nylon/polyester hybrid with a breathable mesh inner face for comfort during long working days. Metal parts are made of unpainted zinc-plated steel. The swivel chest buckle is aluminum alloy to reduce the overall weight of the harness.
This harness is ideal for all work at height in general construction, building maintenance, manufacturing, and transportation industries. It is available in five sizes: S, M, L, XL, and 2XL. The comfortable vest style makes donning and doffing easy on active job sites. The integrated 3M CSID system allows digital scanning and tracking of inspection history via a mobile device.
The worker is responsible for performing a routine inspection before each use. During this inspection, look for any sign of degradation, wear, malfunction, or breakage. The harness must be replaced at the slightest sign of failure. A qualified person other than the worker must inspect the harness at regular intervals: some manufacturers prescribe inspection every 90 days, others every 180 days or annually. The more demanding the working conditions, the more frequent the inspections should be.
The recommended service life of a harness is 5 years for regular use. Any equipment subjected to a fall or impact must be immediately taken out of service. Sylprotec offers a professional harness inspection service. Visit the Service tab on our website for more information.
For cleaning, use mild soap and lukewarm water (37 °C / 98.6 °F). Never use bleach, abrasive or chemical products. If the harness is too dirty or contaminated, it is time to replace it. Air dry without excessive heat in a clean environment. Avoid exposure to sunlight or any source of contamination during storage.
No. Any harness that has sustained a fall or impact must be immediately taken out of service, even if it shows no visible signs of damage. The forces generated during a fall can affect the straps and components in ways that are not visible. Always replace a harness after a fall. Sylprotec offers an annual inspection service by a qualified technician.
