Technical description — features and components

This ExoFit X200 safety harness features a dorsal D-ring and sternal D-ring with automatic vertical positioning (stand-up) and anti-slip plate. The patented 3M double-locking quick-connect buckles keep the adjustment secure throughout the shift, eliminating frequent readjustments. The torso buckle is swivel and lockable. The sub-pelvic strap prevents orthostatic suspension syndrome in the event of a fall.

The 6,000 lb polyester webbing offers superior UV and chemical resistance. Zinc-plated alloy steel hardware is unpainted for easy visual inspection. Color-coded webbing simplifies donning. Available in: Small, Medium, Large, X-Large, 2X-Large.

Load capacity and certified safety standards

Maximum load: 310 lb / 140.6 kg including clothing, tools and equipment. Compliant with CSA Z259.10-18 for the Canadian market. Made to order by 3M. Allow approximately 1 month lead time.

Materials — strength, durability and light weight

6,000 lb (27 kN) polyester webbing: superior resistance to acids and UV. Unpainted zinc-plated alloy steel hardware: facilitates visual defect inspection. Multi-color webbing: quick identification of anchor points and adjustments. Plastic tips on webbing ends: prevent fraying over time.

Application and recommended uses

Suitable for: fixed ladder climbing, telecom towers, wind turbines and pylons. Meets the requirements of Canadian Labour Code and CNESST (Quebec) regulations for work at height. Sizes available: Small, Medium, Large, X-Large, 2X-Large.

Inspection and service life — verification guide

Inspect before each use: check for cuts, fraying, broken stitching and deformed hardware. Inspection by a qualified person is required at least annually. Recommended service life: 5 years with regular use. Any harness subjected to a fall must be removed from service and destroyed immediately. Sylprotec offers annual inspection by a qualified technician.

Care and cleaning to extend service life

Clean with mild soap and lukewarm water (max 37°C / 98.6°F). Never use bleach, solvents or abrasive products. Air dry away from direct sunlight. Store hanging in a clean, dry location away from chemicals and heat sources.

FAQ — frequently asked questions about this product

Is this harness compliant with Canadian standards?

Yes. The ExoFit X200 Class AL (fall arrest and ladder climbing) harness complies with CSA Z259.10-18, the mandatory Canadian standard for safety harnesses. The "C" suffix in the 3M model code confirms the Canadian-certified variant. For CNESST inspections in Quebec, a harness bearing only ANSI (American) certification would not be accepted. CSA compliance is mandatory on Quebec construction sites and under the Canada Labour Code.

What is the recommended service life?

The recommended service life is 5 years maximum from the date of first use under regular conditions. This may be reduced by exposure to UV, chemicals or heat. Annual inspection by a qualified person is required. Any harness subjected to a fall arrest load or showing visible damage must be immediately removed from service and destroyed by cutting the webbing to prevent accidental reuse. Sylprotec offers qualified technician inspection.

What is the difference between the X200 and other ExoFit series?

The X100, X200 and X300 series all share the same 310 lb capacity and 6,000 lb polyester webbing. The X200 stands out with its patented 3M double-locking quick-connect buckles that stay in place without constant readjustment. Compared to the X300, the X200 uses alloy steel instead of aluminum hardware and does not include the RFID Connected Safety ID system. It is the ideal choice for regular professional use combining durability and ergonomics.

Complementary suggestions

Pair this ExoFit X200 Class AL harness with CSA-certified lanyards and retractables to complete your fall protection system. The ExoFit X300 (FPH140300A) offers a premium version with aluminum hardware and RFID system. See "Accessories" at the bottom of the page.

Add a bag (FPBAG) Peakworks fall protection storage to carry and protect your equipment, along with CSA-compliant lanyards for safe movement at height.
