Move from plan to action in under a minute: snap the R550 onto the ladder, raise the victim with the rescue wheel, then lower them at an automatically regulated speed. This fully loaded version stays mission-ready thanks to its weatherproof case and built-in descent log.

“Descent + Emergency Hoist” version. The device ensures user-controlled descent with automatic speed regulation between 0.6 and 0.9 m/s for a single worker and between 0.6 and 1.2 m/s for two workers. The R550 unit includes a hand crank for hoisting the victim and comes standard with a 1.2-meter anchor strap, two carabiners, and a carrying bag, a sealed humidity case available as an option (ref. 9508289). The Kernmantle rope is included; the snap-on ladder bracket (ref. 3320014) is available separately.

For the “descent only” configuration without a hoisting function, see product FPLR5503325

FAQ  Using the Rollgliss R550 with hoist

Why choose this version over a basic descender?

It combines a rescue wheel with regulated descent so crews can lift a suspended worker before lowering them safely.

Can I order other lengths?

Yes. The 3327 series is available in 50, 100, 150, 200, 275, 300, 325, 350, 400, 450, or 500 ft configurations; the suffix reflects the maximum length.

What’s the advantage of the sealed case?

The sealed case protects the rope from moisture and dust for a minimum of 10 years; the external humidity indicator lets you verify integrity without opening it.

Looking to round out your fall protection program? Consider the telescopic rescue pole for the Rollgliss R550 (FPLR550POLE), the descent device 3M Rollgliss R550 (FPLR5503325), the sealed case for the Rollgliss R550 device (FPLR550CASE), a permanent roof anchor connector (FPA826), a temporary stainless-steel concrete anchor (FPAF075N), or a robust fixed anchor (FPA822). Complete your setup with the mandatory harness sign (ECO130) and the galvanized steel sling (FPAE). Each component of a harness-lanyard-anchor system can save lives at height.
