The DBI-SALA 3M Fixed Ladder SRL Anchor, available in galvanized or stainless steel, is a simple, lightweight way to bring your fixed ladders into compliance. Weighing under 13.6 kg (30 lb), it adds a convenient tie-off point to an existing ladder and helps you meet OSHA's Walking-Working Surfaces standard.
The anchor mounts at the top of a fixed ladder and provides a single, reliable tie-off point for a self-retracting lifeline. The worker connects the SRL to the anchor, then climbs or descends the ladder while protected against falls. Because the solution does not require a front D-ring, it works with a standard fall arrest harness, simplifying compliance of existing ladders.
The anchor is ideal for step-through style fixed ladder systems. Its versatile mounting capabilities allow left, right or center positioning, in front of or behind the rungs. Use it with a DBI-SALA 3M Smart Lock self-retracting lifeline. Verify ladder structure compatibility against the 3M technical data sheet before installation.
This anchor suits fixed ladders for roof access, towers, tanks, silos, industrial structures and any vertical access point requiring quick compliance. It is especially useful for existing ladders that must receive a fall protection device without installing a permanent cable system.
The DBI-SALA 3M Fixed Ladder SRL Anchor meets Section 1910.27 Walking-Working Surfaces of the 29 CFR OSHA 1910 standard. Refer to applicable provincial regulations and have the installation validated by a competent person or engineer. Formal inspection and any repair must be carried out by a competent person and by 3M or an authorized representative.
Before each use, visually inspect the anchor, the anchor hook, the U-bolts and all hardware for any sign of corrosion, deformation, cracking or wear. Remove any damaged component from service. A formal inspection by a competent person must be performed at the frequency required by regulations and the manufacturer.
Keep the anchor clean and dry. Clean it with water and mild soap, then air dry away from direct heat. Store it in a clean, dry place, away from sunlight and corrosive fumes. Galvanized steel resists corrosion well in normal outdoor use.
No. Unlike a Lad-Saf cable system, this anchor works with a standard fall arrest harness without a front D-ring, which reduces implementation costs.
With a DBI-SALA 3M Smart Lock self-retracting lifeline and a compliant fall arrest harness. The SRL is ordered separately.
The galvanized steel model (6100562) suits most environments; the stainless steel model (6100563) is recommended for highly corrosive or marine environments.
The installer who brings fixed ladders into compliance climbs up and down several times a day to fit anchors and connect lifelines. To stay protected during this work at height, they wear a class L harness with a sternal D-ring (FPH140200XCAL), cut-resistant gloves (GS13KFNT), safety glasses (YA3301), a protective helmet (TA14LR) held by its chin strap (TA14CS), a high-visibility garment (V6671) and corded earplugs (OA111).
This anchor serves as a tie-off point for a DBI-SALA 3M Smart Lock self-retracting lifeline, to be ordered separately with a compliant fall arrest harness. To secure the area at the base of the ladder during installation or maintenance, add a DANGER barricade tape (ECT3RE9).
On accesses fitted with a Lad-Saf cable system, the climber instead connects to the cable with a removable Lad-Saf X2 or X3 sleeve, selected to match the cable diameter.
