Nano-Lok DBI-SALA 8 ft Self-Retracting Lifeline Cable Leading Edge Quick Connector

Nano-Lok™ DBI-SALA® 3M self-retracting lifeline (SRL) for leading edge applications, 8 ft (2.4 m). Designed for work at height on unprotected leading edges (roofs, steel structures, beams). The galvanized cable withstands sharp cutting edges. Equipped with a quick connector for fast and secure attachment to the back of the harness. Capacity: 310 lb (141 kg) including clothing, tools and equipment.

3M purchase code: 7012819209, model: 3500252.
This product complies with ANSI Z359.14 Class 2 for leading edge applications. Made to order by 3M. Allow approximately 1 month for delivery.

Unprotected leading edges represent a major hazard: webbing can be severed during a fall if the equipment is not designed for this use. The galvanized cable resists this type of stress. The integrated quick connector facilitates fast attachment and removal from the harness without tools.

Its speed-sensing locking mechanism arrests a fall within inches. The high-capacity external energy absorber limits forces on the falling worker. Once deployed, the overload indicator appears. Refer to the manufacturer's manual for stopping distances specific to this model.

Housing is durable lightweight thermoplastic nylon with integrated quick connector. Total weight: 4.5 lb (2.04 kg). Integrates IRF (i-Safe) technology.

The cable of this self-retracting lifeline is made of galvanized steel, a zinc-treated metal material designed to resist corrosion. Unlike textile webbing (polyester, Kevlar), a steel cable cannot be severed by a sharp steel edge during a fall. This is the fundamental property that makes it essential for Leading Edge applications, where the lanyard may contact a roofing edge, beam, or structural metal angle. Galvanization also ensures extended longevity in outdoor environments exposed to moisture.

About the anchor point and fall clearance distance

The anchor point must always be above the dorsal D-ring of the harness and positioned vertically relative to the user. The worker should remain below the anchor within a 30-degree angle.

This model is designed for leading edge applications. The galvanized cable withstands unprotected sharp edges. The anchor must withstand 5,000 lb. Consult the manufacturer's manual for full details.

Leading Edge Cable Self-Retracting Lifeline Inspection

Perform a routine inspection before each use. Look for signs of deterioration, wear, or damage. Replace at the slightest sign of failure. A qualified person must inspect periodically (every 90 or 180 days, or annually). Recommended service life: 5 years. Visit the Service tab for Sylprotec inspection services.

Any equipment subjected to a fall or impact must be taken out of service.

Maintenance and Cleaning of the Nano-Lok Cable Lifeline

Clean with mild soap and warm water (37°C). No bleach or abrasives. Air dry. Fully retract when not in use.

FAQ : Nano-Lok Self-Retracting Lifeline DBI-SALA FPLR3500252

What is the difference between this model and the FPLR3500251?

The FPLR3500252 features a quick connector that allows fast attachment and removal from the harness without tools. The FPLR3500251 uses a standard connector. Both models share the same 8 ft length and galvanized Leading Edge cable.

Why choose a cable over polyester webbing?

Polyester webbing can be severed by a sharp steel edge during a fall. The galvanized cable resists this type of cut, making it mandatory for Leading Edge applications where the lanyard may contact a roofing edge or metal structure.

Can this SRL be used in standard environments without leading edges?

Yes, the Nano-Lok Leading Edge works in standard applications too. Its metal cable makes it slightly heavier than a webbing model, but fall arrest performance is equivalent.

Complementary suggestions : compatible fall protection equipment FPLR3500252

For work on unprotected leading edges, pair this lifeline with a harness ExoFit X300 Class APL (FPH1403223C) for climbing and positioning on rooftops, or the harness ExoFit X300 Class AP (FPH1403230C) for maximum mobility on structures. Add safety glasses SecureFit 400 (YASF401BG) and earplugs EARsoft (OA1250) to protect against debris and noise. Under "Accessories" at the bottom of this page.

The gloves Dyneema PU A4 cut-resistant (GS13SXGPU) protect your hands when handling sharp materials, and the bag Peakworks (FPBAG) keeps your fall protection equipment clean between uses. For continuous protection during rooftop movement, also consider the twin-leg LVAR Nano-Lok (FPLR3500250).
