The Peakworks retrieval self-retracting lifeline (SRL-R) is a personal fall limiter equipped with an internal energy absorber and a retrieval / rescue crank, with a length of 60 ft (18.3 m). In the event of a fall, it acts as a fall-arrest block; its crank then allows the worker to be raised or lowered to safety, particularly in confined spaces. The cable is 0.22 in (5.5 mm) galvanized steel.
Restricted use: this lifeline is designed to serve as a fall-arrest block and a post-fall recovery/retrieval device. It is not designed for work positioning, personnel transport, or the lifting or moving of goods or materials.
Peakworks product code: V845643060, model SRL-73303-60. This product complies with ANSI Z359.14-2014 and CSA Z259.2.2-2017. It is fitted with one swivel steel carabiner with a standard 7/8 in (22.22 mm) opening, self-locking with double action. With a vertical anchorage, this limiter can support a worker weighing 310 lb (136 kg), including clothing, tools and equipment. The maximum arrest distance is 32 in (0.80 m) with a vertical anchorage.
This SRL-R combines fall arrest and built-in rescue capability, ideal for confined-space and at-height interventions.
This retrieval lifeline is typically mounted on a tripod or davit using a suitable bracket. The anchorage must be positioned according to the manufacturer's manual and withstand a force of 5000 lb. The user must assess the fall distance and clearance. Reminder: this equipment is not for positioning or material lifting.
The worker is responsible for performing a routine inspection before each use. The worker must check the retraction and locking of the cable, the proper operation of the retrieval crank, the fall indicator, the carabiner, and note any sign of degradation, wear or breakage. Replace the equipment at the first sign of failure. This SRL-R should also be inspected periodically by a qualified person other than the worker, according to the manufacturer's conditions. Any equipment that has withstood a fall or an impact must be taken out of service. Sylprotec offers a fall protection inspection service; to learn more, see the Services tab.
For cleaning, use a mild soap and lukewarm water (37 °C). Do not use bleach or abrasive or chemical products. Keep the mechanism and crank clean and dry. Air dry, without excessive heat, in a clean environment. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight and to any source of contamination.
After a fall is arrested, the built-in crank lets you raise or lower the worker to safety — essential for confined-space rescue without extra equipment.
No. This lifeline is only for fall arrest and person retrieval. It must not be used for positioning, personnel transport or the lifting of goods.
It supports a worker with a total weight of 310 lb (136 kg), including clothing, tools and equipment, with a vertical anchorage.
To complete your rescue system, also consider a class A,P,L,E confined-space harness (6 D-rings, FPH2000AELP), a class A,E descent harness (FPH2000AE), a confined-space yoke (FPLRKL), a tripod with pulley (FPLRKT), a mounting bracket (FPLRS), a self-locking carabiner (FPAM88), an anchorage sling (FPAE) and a storage bag (FPBAG).
