The chrome front panel 06-0700-63 Speedglas 3M is a replacement frame for Speedglas 9100 FX and 9100 FX-Air auto-darkening filter assemblies. It forms the external structure of the helmet that surrounds and holds the auto-darkening filter in position. Its chrome finish gives a professional appearance and makes visual detection of damage easier.

This panel is designed to be replaced when the original frame is deformed by an impact, cracked, or when the filter locking mechanisms are damaged. It ensures precise alignment of the auto-darkening filter and protective visor, maintaining the assembly integrity against spatter. Manufactured in Sweden, available on special order.
Direct impact: any shock that has deformed or cracked the frame requires immediate replacement. A deformed panel compromises helmet seal integrity and filter retention in active position.
Damaged mechanisms: if the auto-darkening filter attachment points no longer reliably retain the filter, replace the front panel before continuing work.
Extended wear: after intensive use in heavy-spatter environments, the panel may show signs of structural wear. Regular inspection prevents failures during operation.
Preventive maintenance: in shops using planned equipment rotation, replace the front panel according to the Speedglas helmet maintenance schedule.
The front panel 06-0700-63 is exclusively designed for Speedglas 9100 FX, 9100 FX-Air and 9100 MP assemblies. It does not install on models 9002X, 9000X or the G5 series. When replacing, ensure the auto-darkening filter and grinding visor are correctly repositioned and locked in the new frame before any use. Refer to the Speedglas maintenance guide for the complete procedure.
Yes. The front panel 06-0700-63 is designed for installation without specialized tools. Follow the procedure in the Speedglas helmet maintenance guide. After installation, verify that the auto-darkening filter clicks into place correctly and that the protective visor seats without excessive play. If in doubt about assembly solidity, consult a qualified technician before using the helmet.
The chrome finish is primarily aesthetic and facilitates visual inspection of the front panel. Cracks and deformations are more visible on a reflective surface. It does not add protection against metal or thermal spatter. Panel strength depends on the frame structural material, not its surface coating.
Service life depends on use intensity and working conditions. In heavy grinding environments with frequent abrasive spatter, inspect the panel at the start of each shift. In standard welding use, monthly inspection may suffice. Replace as soon as deformations, cracks or filter locking mechanism malfunctions appear.
