The 3M Speedglas 07-0200-52 scratch-resistant outside cover protects the filter of your Speedglas 100 helmet with a finish that resists scratching. It takes sparks and spatter so the filter stays in good condition. Sold in a bag of 10, it lets you change plates as soon as your view blurs. On the 100V filter, it works as a pair with the 04-0290-00 inside (R04-0290-00) cover, which protects the other side.

On a Speedglas 100 helmet, the outside cover has a hard life: spatter, grinding dust, handling on the workbench. The 07-0200-52 meets that reality with a scratch-resistant finish that helps keep a clear surface in front of the filter. Fitted at the front, it intercepts sparks and spatter and lets you read the weld pool and joint edges sharply. When it keeps marks despite cleaning, a replacement is all it takes to get a clear view back, without touching the filter. The bag of 10 provides a comfortable reserve for the shop.
The 07-0200-52 fits outside the filter of a Speedglas 100 helmet, notably with the 100V filter. If your work does not call for a scratch-resistant finish, the 07-0200-51 standard (R07-0200-51) plate is the other outside option in the same series. For the inner face of the 100V, the 04-0290-00 inside (R04-0290-00) cover takes over.
Release the series 100 helmet frame to reach the outside seat, then fit the new plate. Before closing, make sure both faces are clean and that the frame holds it properly.
Regularly inspect the coating and the central area of the plate, where your line of sight passes. Gentle cleaning is usually enough; if scratches, impacts or embedded deposits persist, replace it. Leave new plates in their bag until fitting to keep them clean.
This plate protects the filter; protection against arc radiation comes from the welding filter of the series 100 helmet. Change a split or distorted plate without delay.
Both protect the front of the Speedglas 100 filter. The 07-0200-52 adds a scratch-resistant finish, useful when the helmet is handled often or set down on the workbench.
Yes, the 07-0200-53 is the high-temperature version of the same series. Choose it when your workstation calls for it.
Speedglas 100 helmets and their filters, including the 100V.
The bag holds 10 plates, enough for many replacements on one or several helmets.
Yes, Speedglas magnifiers in several powers fit with the holder specified for the filter. You will find them in the suggestions.
Under a Speedglas 100 helmet, the welder wears anti-fog Solus glasses (YAS1101) and split and full-grain leather welding gloves (G602). An H7B neckband earmuff (OPH7B), Proban sleeves (VS23) and a split-leather bib apron (VT1288) complete the outfit. Before starting, adjust this equipment to your work clothing and inspect its condition while preparing the welding station.
On the same 100 helmet, the standard (R07-0200-51) plate and the heat (R07-0200-53) version provide outside cover options for the planned work. The holder (R07-0680-00) takes a magnifier (R06-0500-56) or an alternative lens (R06-0500-59) to suit the welder's viewing needs. Check the existing setup before choosing the replacement parts for the helmet.
