Installation and anchorage point

The connector installs into a ¾ in hole drilled in dry, cured concrete with a minimum strength of 3000 psi, according to the manufacturer's instructions. As with any fall protection anchorage point, the location must be selected by a competent person: assess the fall distance, the free clearance below the worker, the rescue measures and the anchor strength (5000 lb). Remove the connector at the end of the job.

Inspection of the anchorage connector

The worker is responsible for a routine inspection before each use: look for any sign of degradation, wear, corrosion, malfunction or breakage. Replace the connector at the first sign of failure. It should also be inspected periodically by a qualified person other than the worker. Any equipment subjected to a fall or impact must be removed from service. Sylprotec offers a fall protection equipment inspection service; see the Services tab.
