Designed for decontamination professionals, the industrial canister vacuum HazVac offers a robust and reliable solution for demanding worksites. Its 1.7-horsepower motor generates an airflow of 110 cubic feet per minute, allowing powerful and consistent suction. The integrated HEPA filter captures fine particles of 0.3 microns, protecting operators against carcinogenic dust and pathogens. This vacuum is recommended for asbestos removal, renovation, industrial cleaning, and for healthcare or educational facilities.
Spare HEPA filters (item SAD5F) and 12 gal (US) bags (item SAD5S) are available under the accessories section at the bottom of the page. Please note that the bags come in a pack of 10 units and the HEPA filters are sold individually.
The DOP test (Dispersed Oil Particulate) has been designed to ensure the integrity and efficiency of HEPA filters in terms of airborne particles containment based on their holding capacity of dispersed oil particulate of 0,3 µm. This type of test is a requirement because it pinpoints any leaks on the HEPA filter, that is, through its accordion-shaped material, its frame or its seals. Note that if particles go around the HEPA filter, the DOP test has failed.
It is strongly recommended to always make a DOP test on the work site.
HEPA filters are certified accordingly to current applicable regulations and a certification label shall be placed on the frame of the filter.
Professional power for asbestos removal.
The HazVac vacuum is equipped with a 12-gallon (45-liter) metal tank, resistant to shocks and splashes, with an epoxy powder coating. It operates on a 120 V/60 Hz circuit and consumes 10.7 amps. Its HEPA filter is protected by a secondary polyester filter, extending its lifespan. The system includes a 3-meter flexible hose, two telescopic extensions, a brush for dry waste, a brush for wet waste, a narrow nozzle, a protective filter, and a disposable bag. The automatic shut-off mechanism and integrated silencer ensure safe and comfortable use.
Installing the HazVac vacuum is intuitive. Simply connect the flexible hose to the tank, add the extensions, and choose the appropriate nozzle for the type of waste to be vacuumed. The HEPA filter and the secondary filter must be properly inserted into their respective compartments. Once the elements are in place, plug the device into a 15-amp circuit and turn it on. The vacuum is ready to operate as soon as the motor is activated.
To ensure consistent performance, it is essential to regularly maintain the HazVac vacuum. Empty the disposable bag as soon as it is full and replace it with a compatible model. Check the condition of the HEPA filter and the polyester filter, and replace them if necessary. Clean the hose, accessories, and tank with a damp cloth. Make sure the wheels and sealing joints are in good condition to avoid any loss of efficiency.
Use the HazVac vacuum in industrial environments where hazardous dust or contaminated materials are common. It is particularly suitable for asbestos removal, mold cleaning, renovation, and construction work. Wear personal protective equipment during use and avoid handling filters without precautions. Follow safety instructions and applicable standards to ensure effective and safe use.
The tank has a capacity of 12 US gallons, or approximately 45 liters, allowing it to hold a large amount of dry or wet waste.
Yes, the HEPA filter is replaceable. It is recommended to change it regularly to maintain optimal filtration of fine particles.
Thanks to its rotating wheels and various accessories, the HazVac vacuum can be used on all types of flooring, including industrial surfaces, hard floors, and sensitive areas.
