The blanket is certified NFPA (5.1) 701 and is made of gray wool treated with Dupont X-12 fire retardant. It is recommended to use fireproof blankets on small fires as soon as they appear to block their oxygen supply.
The blanket may be rolled in a steel cabinet. The edge of the blanket has an arm loop to use in case of clothes on fire: the victim can, even unassisted, place an arm through the loop and quickly wrap the blanket around himself or herself to extinguish the fire.
