Filter the air and protect your workers!
The 256-02-01 3M Portable Compressed Air Filtration and Control Panel is an eight-outlet air purification system designed for industrial environments.
This panel is an eight-outlet air purification system that filters particles and detects carbon monoxide (CO). This model doesn't include a CO filter (see model R256/02/00 for this option). It offers several options to enhance worker safety.
3M's 256-02-00 portable compressed air filtration and control panel is a four-outlet air purification system designed for industrial environments.
The panel is a four-outlet air purification. It is followed by a carbon monoxide (CO) detector, which, with its audible alarm, warns you of the presence of CO in your airline. It offers several options to enhance worker safety.
It comes in a protective carrying case for total portability. This device is designed to ensure the quality of compressed air used in industrial or work environments where respiratory safety is essential.
This equipment is often used when traditional filtration methods are not effective. This is particularly the case for paint products containing isocyanates or polyurethane. Cartridges containing activated carbon cannot safely filter out these substances. The cartridge's breakdown threshold doesn't allow you to detect its end-of-life, so you have to breathe in a carcinogenic product to know that the cartridge needs replacing. As for the solution of establishing a cartridge replacement schedule before the detection threshold, although mentioned by some specialists, this should be a temporary solution. However, such a schedule is difficult to set up and requires a great deal of vigilance to maintain.

It's important to bear in mind that air quality is crucial to worker safety. The source may be a compressor, or a series of high-pressure cylinders containing breathable air. If it's a compressor, it's important to ensure that it complies with Grade D breathing air quality requirements. To do this, you need to have the quality of your air validated by a specialized laboratory. This should be the first step in your project.
3M compressed air filter and regulator panels do not increase the oxygen content of an air supply and should not be used when the inlet air lacks oxygen.
The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) stipulated in 29 CFR 1910.134 (i) that air quality must meet at least the requirements of the specification for Grade D breathing air, as described in the Compressed Gas Association Specification.
Commodity Specification ANSI/CGA G-7.1 1989, in the USA. In Canada, refer to Table 1 of CSA standard CAN3-Z180.1-19.
| Oxygen | 19.5 to 23.5 |
| Hydrocarbons | <5mg/m3 (condensed oil) |
| Nitrogen and noble gases | 78-80 |
| Carbon monoxide | <10ppm |
| Odor | No perceptible odor |
| Carbon dioxide | <1000ppm |
| Methane | ≤10 PPM |
| VOC (non-halogenated) | ≤5 PPM + <10% EL |
| VOC (halogenated) | ≤5 PPM + <10% EL |
| Oil, particulates, and condensate | ≤1 mg/m3 |

This equipment is equipped with a CO gas monitor. It takes a breath sample and displays the reading in real time. It also emits an audible signal in the event of a fault in the filtration panel. By filtering air and CO gas, it helps protect workers from the risks associated with breathing contaminated air.
Caution associated with air panels :
The carbon monoxide detector on 3M portable filter panels and compressed air regulators complies with CSA standards for intrinsic safety in Class 1, Division 1, Groups A, B, C and D hazardous locations when powered by two 9 V batteries.
If the monitor is powered by the optional 120 VAC adapter, intrinsic safety certification is canceled. Intrinsic safety certification is also canceled when the remote alarm is used.
The symptoms of CO poisoning are often difficult to recognize, as they resemble those of other health problems, such as headaches, vomiting, dizziness, chest pain and blurred vision.
Carbon monoxide enters the bloodstream and takes the place of oxygen, damaging tissues. Prolonged exposure can lead to serious complications, such as brain damage, heart damage, loss of consciousness and even death.
If you notice any symptoms of carbon monoxide, leave the premises immediately, call 9-1-1 and wait for a firefighter to authorize you to return indoors.
Be vigilant because safety is paramount!
This product purchased alone is not functional. You must add ;
Appropriate airlines, such as RW2929-50
A pressure regulator: RV100, RV200 or RV300
A valve to cool or heat the air, RV100 and RV200.
A face piece suitable for the working environment, either an S series balaclava or others.RS655, RM307
Consumables for face pieces, such as removable films and others. RM927, RS605, RM928.
This four-stage air purification system includes an adjustable regulator and pressure gauge. For maximum panel efficiency, the compressed air temperature must be between 2° C and 65°C (35°F and 150°F).
Imagine yourself in the middle of a shop, surrounded by powerful machinery and airborne dust. The air is laden with fine particles, and every breath could become a risk if the compressed air supply isn't beyond reproach. Or in an industrial paint shop, where the slightest impurity can ruin a perfect finish. You know how much air quality can affect the safety and performance of your team.
With a 3M compressed air filtration and control panel, you can eliminate these uncertainties. It ensures a clean, constant air supply, reducing humidity and contaminants without compromising your safety. Whether you're a welder, painter, mechanic or factory operator, this equipment quickly becomes a must-have, a pledge of reliability you can always count on.
Before each use, inspect the panel for damage, leaks or malfunctions. Do not use it if it shows signs of damage.
Train users on how to use the panel properly and on the risks associated with carbon monoxide. Make sure they understand how to monitor CO levels and react in the event of an alarm.
This equipment requires air quality testing every 6 months. Air samples must be sent to competent laboratories.
Please refer to the panel user manual for specific information and further details.
If the monitor is powered by the optional 120 VAC adapter, intrinsic safety certification is voided. The same applies if you use the remote alarm module.
Be sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions on panel maintenance and cleaning. This ensures proper operation and extends the panel's service life. Place the panel in a well-ventilated area, away from heat sources and chemicals. Avoid areas where it could be exposed to excessive shock or vibration. When not in use, store the panel in its protective carrying case to prevent damage.
