The larger the extinguisher cylinder, the longer the hook must be: once installed, the extinguisher must be perfectly vertical, otherwise it will hang diagonally.

• Vertical position: the Montreal Fire Safety Service (SIM) recommends a vertical installation for all extinguishers; an extinguisher is only laid down when empty, and most hooks allow only the vertical position.
