The X3 removable cable sleeve Lad-Saf DBI-SALA 3M is the mobile link of the Lad-Saf vertical cable safety system: it follows the worker while climbing a fixed ladder or tower and instantly arrests a fall. Designed for 9.5 mm (3/8 in) cable, galvanized or stainless, it is made from corrosion-resistant stainless steel and integrates a laser-cut energy absorber and a fall indicator. Its hands-free design, independent dual locking and anti-inversion functions make it a reliable, safe sleeve. Capacity of 310 lb (141 kg), one user.
The X3 sleeve integrates a laser-cut stainless steel energy absorber that reduces the fall-arrest forces transmitted to the worker. A visible fall indicator immediately shows whether the sleeve has undergone a fall arrest, so it can be removed from service without hesitation. Its stainless steel construction provides excellent corrosion resistance, even in abrasive and humid environments.
The X3 automatically follows the user during ascent and descent, with no handling, for continuous fall protection. It offers an independent dual locking mechanism and anti-inversion functions that prevent upside-down installation on the cable. It installs and detaches anywhere along the Lad-Saf vertical lifeline, making it easy to enter and exit the system.
This sleeve is compatible with the 9.5 mm (3/8 in) Lad-Saf cable in galvanized or stainless steel. It features a 3M connected Safety ID (i-Safe) that supports inspection traceability. To operate, it must be paired with the Lad-Saf system components: cable, guides and counterweight.
The X3 sleeve is designed for vertical access on fixed ladders, towers and structures at height. It suits general industry, utilities, oil and gas, telecommunications and wind energy, wherever a worker must climb safely along a vertical cable.
Inspect the sleeve before each use. Remove it from service if the fall indicator is triggered or in case of corrosion, cracking or wear. Any repair must be performed by 3M DBI-SALA or an authorized competent person. Keep the sleeve clean and dry between uses to preserve its mechanism.
