The Lad-Saf vertical cable safety system head by DBI-SALA 3M (model 6116635) is the mounting bracketry for a vertical fall arrest system on a Wood Pole structure. It includes the top and bottom brackets and the mounting hardware, and receives a crimped cable and guides ordered separately. Its next-generation design cuts the number of loose components by up to 72 percent compared with older models, for faster installation. The top bracket integrates a fall arrest anchor point.
This head accommodates up to 2 users, each with a maximum weight of 310 lb (140 kg) including equipment. It does not form a fall arrest system on its own: the complete vertical system comprises this head, a crimped cable, cable guides and a removable Lad-Saf X2 or X3 sleeve. The system is only compliant with ANSI Z359.16 when used with this sleeve. Always have the design and verification of the system carried out by a competent person or engineer, per the applicable provincial regulation.
Before each use, visually inspect the brackets, the integrated anchor point, the mounting hardware and the whole head for any sign of corrosion, deformation, cracking or wear. Remove any damaged component from service. A formal inspection by a competent person must be performed at the frequency required by regulations and the manufacturer.
Keep the system head clean and dry. Clean it with water and mild soap, then air dry away from direct heat. Store it in a clean, dry place, away from corrosive fumes. Galvanized steel resists corrosion well in normal outdoor use.
No. The head includes the brackets and mounting hardware; the crimped cable and guides are ordered separately based on the climb height.
On a Wood Pole structure. Choose the head whose mount type matches your structure.
Up to 2 simultaneous users, each with a maximum weight of 310 lb (140 kg) including equipment.
Yes. The system is only compliant when used with a removable Lad-Saf X2 or X3 sleeve, selected to match the cable diameter.
The climber who installs and uses a Lad-Saf vertical safety system on a fixed ladder works at height, exposed to the void throughout the climb. He wears his full personal protective equipment: a class L harness with a sternal D-ring (FPH140200XCAL), cut-resistant gloves (GS13KFNT), safety glasses (YA3301), a protective helmet (TA14LR) held by its chin strap (TA14CS), a high-visibility garment (V6671) and corded earplugs (OA111).
This system head is the mounting bracketry for the ladder: to build the complete vertical system, pair it with the Lad-Saf crimped cable (FPLS61040XX) and a removable Lad-Saf X3 sleeve (FPACC6160054) or X2 (FPACC6160030), selected to match the cable diameter. Also plan a RollGliss R550 rescue device (FPLR5503325) to evacuate a climber in difficulty and mark off the ground area with DANGER tape (ECT3RE9).
Other Lad-Saf system heads in the same range, depending on your mount type: the rung version (FPLS6116631) for Rung mount, 2 users, the rung 4 version (FPLS6116633) for Rung mount, 4 users, and the pole version (FPLS6116634) for Monopole mount, 4 users.
