The DBI-SALA® 3M 8005048 mount support is a fastening accessory designed to allow the installation of a winch or self-retracting lifeline (SRL) onto the base of an Advanced DBI-SALA® 3M tripod. This compact component, measuring 209.6 mm deep, 151.1 mm wide and 48.3 mm high, weighs only 1.25 kg. It is an integral part of a 3-way rescue system used in confined spaces. UPC: 00840779005659.

Using a tripod/winch/SRL system in a confined space meets a specific need: enabling the safe descent and retrieval of a worker in a sump, tank, sewer, silo or vat. The 8005048 support firmly attaches the winch to one of the legs of the Advanced tripod, at an ergonomic height for the operator. Without this support, the winch cannot be properly assembled onto the structure. It is therefore a critical component of the rescue device.

Air quality warning for confined spaces:
Before any entry into a confined space, air quality must be validated using a reliable multi-gas detector. The main risks are oxygen deficiency (below 19.5%), oxygen enrichment (above 23%), the presence of combustible gases (LEL), carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrogen sulfide (H₂S). Entering without prior verification is a serious fault: several workers lose their lives each year in Canada by entering a tainted atmosphere. Sylprotec offers the MSA Altair 4X multi-gas detector (DETEC4G) compliant with CSA and ANSI standards for simultaneous measurement of the four critical gases. Ventilation, continuous monitoring, a written rescue plan and an outside attendant are also mandatory under Quebec OSH Regulation (art. 297 to 312).

Zinc-plated steel material:
Zinc-plated steel offers excellent mechanical resistance to support the dynamic loads of a winch in operation. Zinc plating protects the steel from corrosion in humid environments, common in municipal sumps, pumping stations and underground reservoirs. The coating also reduces friction at mechanical contact points. This treatment is perfectly suited to repeated industrial use where the support is exposed to rain, dust and temperature variations. The useful life is thus significantly extended compared to untreated steel.

Routine inspection before each use by the operator. Qualified inspection by a competent person every 90 or 180 days depending on frequency of use. Recommended service life: 5 years. Immediate out-of-service after fall, impact or exposure to corrosive products. Sylprotec offers an annual inspection service performed by a qualified technician.

Maintenance: clean with lukewarm water (37 °C) and mild soap. Air-dry away from direct sunlight. No solvent or aggressive cleaner.
