This filter must be used with a cartridge and a 3M R501 filter retainer (cartridge and retainer not included).
The P95 filter for the 3M 501 retainer is an essential component to enhance respiratory protection in high-risk environments. Compatible with the 6000 series cartridges, this filter is NIOSH-certified under standard 42 CFR 84 and is designed to capture solid, liquid, and oily airborne particles. Thanks to its patented electrostatic membrane, it offers 95% filtration efficiency while facilitating breathing. This filter is recommended for tasks involving pesticides, chemicals, aerosol painting, varnishing, or laboratory handling. Optimal respiratory protection for demanding environments.
This P95 filter is sold in a box of 10 units and must be used with the 3M 501 retainer. It is designed to resist particles containing oil, which distinguishes it from N95 filters. Its electrostatic membrane allows effective filtration without compromising respiratory comfort. It is compatible with several models of 3M respirators, including the 6000, 7000, 7500, 7800S, and FF-400 series. This filter is also useful for reducing exposure to certain biological particles, such as mold, tuberculosis bacillus, or flu viruses, although it cannot completely eliminate the risk of infection.
To install the P95 filter, it must be attached to a 6000-series cartridge using the 3M 501 retainer. Installation is simple: just snap the filter onto the cartridge, then secure the assembly with the R501 support. It is essential to ensure that the mask is properly fitted to the face and that the filter is correctly positioned to guarantee optimal sealing. This modular system allows quick adaptation to specific filtration needs.
This type of filter is recommended for tasks such as pesticide spraying, agriculture, aerosol painting, varnishing, petrochemical and chemical product manufacturing, paper processing, boat manufacturing, and laboratory work.
These filters can help reduce inhalation exposure to certain airborne biological particles, such as mold, Bacillus anthracis (anthrax), Mycobacterium tuberculosis (tuberculosis bacillus), pandemic flu viruses (H5N1, H1N1), etc. However, they cannot completely eliminate the risk of infection, pathology, or disease. Due to the nature of certain biological contaminants, government agencies have not been able to determine exposure limits for all types of contaminants.
Do not use if the user has a beard or suffers from a condition that may prevent direct contact between the mask edge and the face. These filters are not recommended if there is a concentration above the permissible limit of gases and vapors. Do not use when particles are released during sandblasting or when aerosol concentrations exceed 10 times the exposure limit allowed by CNESST or any other applicable government regulation. These respiratory protection filters should only be used in areas that do not present an oxygen deficiency risk.
The filters are disposable, so there is no maintenance. They are designed to have an estimated lifespan of 40 hours or 30 days. These figures are for informational purposes only and should not be the sole tool for estimating your filters’ lifespan. Since each work environment is different, it is important to respect the limits established by the manufacturer.
The P95 filter is particularly suitable for industrial, agricultural, and chemical environments where the presence of oily particles is frequent. It is suitable for painting, varnishing, paper processing, petrochemical manufacturing, and handling biological products. It is not recommended for use during sandblasting or in environments where contaminant concentrations exceed permissible exposure limits. For maximum efficiency, the user must be clean-shaven and in good physical condition to ensure a tight seal between the mask and the face.
The P95 filter is resistant to particles containing oil, unlike the N95 filter, which is not. The P95 is therefore recommended for environments where oily aerosols are present.
This filter is compatible with the 6000, 7000, 7500, 7800S, and FF-400 series masks, provided the 501 retainer is used to attach it to the cartridges.
The filter should be replaced after approximately 40 hours of use or 30 days, or as soon as it becomes soiled, damaged, or breathing becomes difficult.
