This combo emergency lighting unit brings together, in a single device, the green "running man" pictogram that marks the emergency exit and two adjustable spotlights that light the evacuation path. Fully LED and housed in a sturdy 20-gauge white enamelled steel casing, it includes a battery. In normal operation the pictogram stays lit ; during a power failure, the two spotlights switch on automatically while the pictogram remains illuminated.
It is the ideal solution when you must both mark the exit and light the way to it. The unit is made by Aimlite (manufacturer code CSRP-2L) and runs on a 120 V or 347 V AC 60 Hz supply. The PAR18 spotlights tilt up and down and have locking screws.
This sign complies with the international standards ISO 7010:2011 and ISO 3864-1:2011 (graphic symbols, safety colours and signs), and is certified to the Canadian standards CSA 22.2 No. 141-15 (emergency lighting equipment) and CSA C860 (performance of internally illuminated exit signs). The green "running man" pictogram was adopted in the National Building Code of Canada in 2010 ; the 2015 version (article 3.4.5.1) requires it, and it replaces the traditional red EXIT signs.
The unit has a sealed 6 V 36 W internal battery. During a failure it can supply 36 W for 30 minutes, 18 W for 60 minutes, 12 W for 90 minutes or 9 W for 120 minutes (over 4 hours with power loss). The backlit pictogram draws 1.9 W (AC) or 0.9 W (6 V DC) and each spotlight 2 W. The circuit board is protected against voltage drops and short circuits, and the unit includes a test button and two indicators (AC power and battery charging).
The sign sets up single-face for wall mounting, or double-face for side or ceiling mounting. It comes with three interchangeable pictograms (pictogram only, right arrow, left arrow). Use the pictogram only above the exit or in a corridor leading to it ; use the arrows to indicate the evacuation direction in a corner or intersection. For indoor use in a dry environment only : do not use outdoors or in a humid environment.
Unit dimensions : 12 in W × 13 in H × 2 1/4 in D (30.5 × 33 × 5.7 cm). Illuminated pictogram : 11 1/4 in × 6 5/16 in (28.5 × 16 cm). Spotlight : 2 5/8 in diameter × 4 1/2 in (6.7 × 11.4 cm).
