This extinguisher is recommended for class A fires (wood, paper, fabric), class B fires (flammable liquids and gases) and can be used on energized electrical equipment (class C).
Electrical fires: immediately cut the circuit power before extinguishing the fire.
Class D: do not use on combustible-metal fires (class D).
An extinguisher only protects you if it is kept in good condition. Regular maintenance ensures it will work the day you need it.
Monthly visual inspection: check that the gauge needle is in the green zone, that the pin and tamper seal are in place, and that the unit is not damaged, corroded or obstructed.
Annual servicing: have the extinguisher inspected yearly by a certified technician, in accordance with the applicable standard (NFPA 10 / local regulations).
Recharge: any extinguisher that has been used, even partially, must be recharged immediately by a qualified shop.
Hydrostatic test: the cylinder must undergo periodic pressure testing per the standard, then be replaced at the end of its service life.
Location: keep the extinguisher accessible, clearly marked and protected from weather and impact.
The ULC rating indicates extinguishing capacity: the number before the "A" relates to solid-material fires, and the number before "BC" the area of flammable-liquid fire the unit can control. Higher numbers mean greater capacity.
On class A fires (wood, paper, fabric), class B fires (flammable liquids and gases) and energized electrical equipment (class C). Never use it on combustible metals (class D).
Visual inspection every month and annual servicing by a certified technician. After any use, the extinguisher must be recharged without delay.
