Heavy-Duty Black Plastic Hose Belt for 20 lb CO2 Fire Extinguishers

This hose belt is a robust replacement accessory specifically engineered for 20 lb carbon dioxide (CO2) fire extinguishers. Made of rigid black plastic, it is designed to securely hold the discharge hose against the extinguisher cylinder, preventing hose damage and snagging hazards in industrial environments.

This extinguisher hose strap is compatible with the EXCO20 carbon dioxide fire extinguisher. The strap is adjustable with a metal screw.

Why use a hose strap?
A hose strap safely secures the extinguisher hose to the extinguisher body. This helps protect the hose against accidental bumps and snags, and increases its service life.

How to install the hose strap?
Place hose strap around the fire extinguisher. Adjust strap by tightening it until it is snug against the extinguisher. Cut excess strap length, then place hose into clip.
The hose strap must be tightly secured to the extinguisher, so that it won’t move or slip. Otherwise, the hose might become stuck in the strap when you need to use the extinguisher. We recommend performing a test before cutting the excess strap length.

Why Choose This Specific Belt?

  • Designed for 20 lb CO2 Units: The dimensions are precisely tailored to the large diameter of 20 lb CO2 cylinders, ensuring a firm fit without slipping.

  • Heavy-Duty Plastic: Unlike elastic models, its rigid plastic construction offers superior durability against temperature variations and demanding work environments.

  • Organization and Safety: Keeps the hose neatly stowed along the cylinder, which is crucial for CO2 extinguishers where hoses can be stiffer or more cumbersome.

  • Professional Finish: The black plastic blends perfectly with the standard appearance of fire protection equipment.

Technical Specifications

  • Material: High-strength black plastic.

  • Compatibility: 20 lb carbon dioxide (CO2) fire extinguishers.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Can I use this belt on a 20 lb dry chemical extinguisher?

While the weight is similar, CO2 cylinders often have different diameters and hose configurations. This belt is specifically optimized for CO2 models; for dry chemical models, a universal elastic strap is generally recommended.

Why use rigid plastic instead of elastic?

CO2 extinguisher hoses are often heavier and equipped with large discharge horns. Rigid plastic provides the necessary structure to support this extra weight without stretching out over time.

Does installation require tools?

Generally, no. The belt is designed to slide onto the cylinder and be held by tension. However, it is recommended to ensure the hose fits correctly into the designated notch.

Is it cold-resistant?

Yes, the plastic used is selected for its ability to withstand industrial environments, which includes adequate resistance to normal storage temperatures.

OHS Expert Advice

"20 lb CO2 extinguishers are heavy and powerful pieces of equipment. An unsecured hose can easily get tangled in a wall bracket or cabinet, delaying your intervention by precious seconds. During your monthly inspections, ensure the plastic belt is not cracked. A belt in good condition ensures that the discharge horn is always within reach for a fast and safe activation."
