This hose belt is a specialized replacement part designed to secure the discharge hose of 10 lb and 15 lb carbon dioxide (CO2) fire extinguishers. Made from high-quality black plastic, it provides a rigid and durable alternative to standard elastic bands, specifically tailored for the unique dimensions of CO2 cylinders.
This extinguisher hose strap is compatible with the EXCO10 and EXCO15 fire extinguishers with carbon dioxide. The strap is adjustable with a metal screw.
Why use a hose strap?
A hose strap safely secures the extinguisher hose to the extinguisher body. This helps protect the hose against accidental bumps and snags, and increases its service life.
How to install the hose strap?
Place hose strap around the fire extinguisher. Adjust strap by tightening it until it is snug against the extinguisher. Cut excess strap length, then place hose into clip.
The hose strap must be tightly secured to the extinguisher, so that it won’t move or slip. Otherwise, the hose might become stuck in the strap when you need to use the extinguisher. We recommend performing a test before cutting the excess strap length.
Dual Compatibility: Engineered to fit both 10 lb and 15 lb CO2 cylinders, offering versatility for facility managers.
Rigid Support: The plastic construction prevents the hose and discharge horn from sagging, which is common with heavy CO2 components.
Safety and Accessibility: Keeps the hose tucked against the cylinder to prevent snagging on clothes, doors, or brackets during an emergency.
Industrial Durability: Designed to withstand industrial environments where oils, chemicals, or temperature fluctuations might cause rubber bands to snap or degrade.
Material: High-impact heavy-duty plastic.
Compatibility: 10 lb and 15 lb CO2 extinguishers.
Color: Black.
Application: Hose and horn management for CO2 units.
Generally, no. CO2 cylinders have a specific diameter and use a different discharge assembly than dry chemical units. You should use an elastic hose belt for dry chemical extinguishers unless a specialized plastic version is specified for that model.
CO2 hoses are typically stiffer and the discharge horns are bulkier than standard nozzles. A rigid plastic belt provides the structural integrity needed to keep these components immobile and protected.
The belt is typically slid over the top or bottom of the cylinder (depending on the extinguisher design) and positioned so the hose can snap into the integrated holder. No specialized tools are required for installation.
It is designed for standard 10 lb and 15 lb CO2 cylinders. While it fits most major brands like Amerex, Badger, and Buckeye, it is always recommended to verify the cylinder diameter if using a non-standard model.
"CO2 extinguishers are often used around sensitive electrical equipment or in laboratories. Because these environments can be cramped, a dangling hose is a major hazard. During your monthly inspections, check the plastic for 'stress whitening' or cracks. If the belt fails, the heavy CO2 horn can swing freely, potentially damaging the equipment or injuring a user during transport. Replace any damaged belts immediately to maintain a high level of readiness."
