The SecuraSpan pass-through bracket by DBI-SALA 3M is an accessory that converts an end stanchion into an intermediate stanchion for a horizontal lifeline on an I-beam. Fastened to the top of the stanchion with the provided hardware, it receives the lifeline that routes through its guides, allowing several consecutive spans to be covered. Its zinc-plated steel construction provides corrosion resistance and longevity from one jobsite to the next.
The pass-through bracket mounts on a SecuraSpan stanchion to create an intermediate point through which the horizontal lifeline continues. To cross the bracket, the worker's connector must be rotated upwards to navigate around the hook-shaped guides. The bracket does not form a fall-arrest system on its own: it is part of a complete assembly comprising the stanchions, the lifeline, an energy absorber, a connector and a harness. Always have the design and verification of the system carried out by a competent person or engineer, per the applicable provincial regulation.
It converts a SecuraSpan end stanchion into an intermediate stanchion, letting the horizontal lifeline route through and cover multiple spans.
Yes. The bracket fastens to the top of the stanchion with the provided hardware.
No. The pass-through bracket is sold individually; the stanchions, lifeline, cable and energy absorber are ordered separately.
Yes. When crossing the bracket, the worker's connector must be rotated upwards to navigate around the hook-shaped guides; larger connectors may not be able to cross the bracket.
The structural steel ironworker who installs this pass-through bracket on a SecuraSpan stanchion works at height along a beam, exposed to the void. On this type of job site, he wears his full personal protective equipment: a full DBI-SALA harness (FPH140103XCAP) tied to his self-retracting lifeline (FPLR3101507) or to his energy-absorbing lanyard (FPL5400), cut-resistant gloves (G378GKGVBE), safety glasses (YA11329), a helmet (TA80) retained by its chinstrap (TA80CS), a high-visibility vest (V6935) and earplugs (OA1101).
This pass-through bracket is one component of a horizontal lifeline system: pair it with the SecuraSpan end stanchions (FPLH74000XX) and the complete temporary horizontal lifeline system (FPLVH) with tensioned cable and energy absorber to form a complete span. Also plan a height rescue device (FPLR5503325) to evacuate a suspended worker, and mark off the ground work zone with warning tape (ECT3YE1).
