Nano-Lok™ DBI-SALA® 3M Extended Length self-retracting lifeline (SRL), 15 ft (4.5 m) with stainless steel cable. Designed for work at height in corrosive environments: marine, offshore, saltwater, food processing, pharmaceutical. Capacity: 310 lb (140 kg).
3M purchase code: 7012819247, model: 3501697.
Complies with CSA Z259.2.2-17 (SRL class). Made to order by 3M. Allow approximately 1 month for delivery.
The Extended Length series provides greater reach. A 15 ft (4.5 m) reach allows greater distance between the worker and anchor. The visual fall indicator signals if the SRL has been involved in a fall.
Speed-sensing locking arrests a fall within inches. High-capacity external energy absorber limits forces. Snap hook on anchor side and spring hook on harness side.
Housing: durable lightweight thermoplastic nylon.
The cable is made of stainless steel, a corrosion-resistant metal alloy requiring no zinc coating. Stainless steel is preferred in aggressive environments: marine, offshore, saltwater, food processing, pharmaceutical. It combines mechanical strength with chemical durability, without risk of zinc or rust contamination. Compared to the galvanized version (FPLR3501696), stainless steel is recommended when the work environment exposes the lifeline to corrosive chemicals or saltwater.
The anchor point must always be above the dorsal D-ring of the harness and positioned vertically relative to the user. The worker should remain below the anchor within a 30-degree angle.
With a 15 ft length, total fall clearance is greater. Always consult the manufacturer's manual.
Check the visual fall indicator before each use. Perform a routine inspection for deterioration, wear, or damage. A qualified person must inspect periodically. Recommended service life: 5 years. Visit the Service tab for inspection services.
Any equipment subjected to a fall or impact must be taken out of service.
Clean with mild soap and warm water (37°C). No abrasives. Air dry. For marine environments, rinse with fresh water after each use. Fully retract when not in use.
Stainless steel is recommended for aggressive environments where galvanized would degrade quickly: marine, offshore, saltwater, food processing, pharmaceutical. Stainless does not rust and does not contaminate with zinc. For non-corrosive applications, the galvanized version (FPLR3501696) is more cost-effective.
Yes, the stainless steel cable resists saltwater and marine environments. This is the main advantage over the galvanized version. The thermoplastic nylon housing is also moisture resistant.
Yes, FPLR3501697 complies with CSA Z259.2.2-17 (SRL class), manufactured in the USA by DBI-SALA, a globally recognized 3M brand.
For work at height in corrosive or offshore environments, pair with a harness ExoFit X300 Class A vest (FPH1403124C) for moisture resistance, or the harness ExoFit X300 Class AP (FPH1403126C) for positioning. Add safety glasses SecureFit 400 (YASF401BG) and earplugs EARsoft (OA1250). Under "Accessories" at the bottom of this page.
The gloves Dyneema PU A4 (GS13SXGPU) resist chemicals and cuts. The bag Peakworks (FPBAG) protects your equipment. For the lower-cost galvanized version, see the LVAR Nano-Lok galvanized (FPLR3501696).
