The Tractel Corso beam clamp, model LT-5B (Tractel manufacturer code: 07039), fastens to the flange of an I or H beam to form a temporary attachment point for material lifting. With a working load limit (WLL) of 5 t (10 000 lb), it is used to hoist machine parts, a motor or the heavy equipment of a rescue team. Its jaws open from 3 to 13 in (80 to 330 mm) and are locked by a tightening screw, then the attachment ring receives the hoist or pulley. Its alloy steel body weighs 27 lb (12.3 kg). Compliant with EN 13155:2025 and made in France, it is used statically, without moving under load, and is never used for lifting persons.
For millwrights replacing a conveyor motor, metal fabrication shops, mine and cement plant maintenance centres and technical rescue teams hanging an equipment winch from an I or H beam. Before each lift, a qualified person checks the beam, the rigging and the load.
Before each work day, inspect the jaws, the screw and the attachment point. Plan a complete visual check every three months, a screw check every six months and, at least once a year, a check with a load test by authorized personnel. Do not use the clamp below -10 °C or above +50 °C without Tractel advice. Remove from service a clamp that is deformed, cracked or whose screw binds.
The 07039 is the Corso LT-5B model, with a WLL of 5 t (10 000 lb). The 07029 is the LT-3B model, with a WLL of 3 t (6 000 lb). Both share the same material lifting use on I or H beams.
Its WLL is 5 t (10 000 lb), in static lifting on a beam whose strength has been checked by a qualified person.
It weighs 27 lb (12.3 kg) and its jaws open from 3 to 13 in (80 to 330 mm) to fit the flange of an I or H beam.
No. It is a material lifting clamp. Do not connect a worker to it and never lift a person with it.
No. The clamp is used statically, with no movement under load.
For a structural steel crew leader fastening this clamp before hoisting heavy material, plan for Uvex Genesis glasses (YAU3202) with an amber polycarbonate lens and high visibility ultra-thin foam nitrile-coated TenActiv gloves (GS21TXUGFN). A Delta Plus Omega II helmet (TA14OR) with a 4-point ratchet suspension and high visibility winter flagger pants (VV56P) suit outdoor sites. A traffic channelizing drum (EPTBA) directs traffic away from the lifting area.
For lighter loads, the Corso 07029 (FPA07029) clamp offers the same use on I or H beams. The DBI-SALA Sealed-Blok retractable mounting bracket (FPLR3401025) serves confined space retrieval systems, and the telescopic pole (FPLR550POLE) accompanies the Rollgliss R550 device. To rescue a person, choose the R550 Rollgliss (FPLR550) device with integrated raising and the DBI-SALA tandem pulley (FPLR8800023), set up on a structure intended for rescue and never on the clamp.
