The Lad-Saf DBI-SALA 3M intermediate cable guide is a wrap-around guide that installs along the cable of a Lad-Saf vertical safety system mounted on a fixed ladder. It keeps the cable lifeline aligned along the structure, reduces sway and lets the sliding sleeve pass freely during the climb. Its non-metallic contact area prevents metal-on-metal contact, protecting both the cable and the guide against wear. Installation is fast, easy and secure.
This guide is part of a modular system. The top bracket, bottom bracket, remote bracket, pre-swaged cable, cable guide supports and the removable X3 or X2 sleeve are ordered separately. An intermediate cable guide is recommended about every 30 ft (9 m) of cable. The complete system accommodates up to 4 workers at a time and offers a load capacity of 310 lb (141 kg) per user.

On a Lad-Saf vertical cable safety system, the intermediate cable guides keep the lifeline aligned along the ladder and limit cable sway. The guide wraps around the cable and lets the worker's sliding sleeve pass without having to disconnect. Distributed over the full height, it ensures smooth, safe sleeve travel during the climb up and down.
The galvanized steel guide (6100400) suits most indoor and outdoor industrial installations. The stainless steel guide (6100457) is designed for more corrosive settings, such as marine, chemical or coastal environments, where increased corrosion resistance is required. Choose the steel type consistent with the rest of the Lad-Saf system installed on your ladder.
Before each use, inspect the guide, its attachment to the cable and the condition of the non-metallic contact area. Check for corrosion, cracks, deformation or loose fasteners. Any damaged component must be removed from service. Any system that has arrested a fall must undergo a formal inspection by a competent person other than the user, at least once a year, per 3M manufacturer instructions and applicable provincial regulations. Clean the guide with water and mild soap, then air dry. Stainless steel resists corrosion better, but clean, dry storage extends the life of the equipment, especially for the galvanized version. Do not modify the guide. Follow the 3M user manual instructions for maintenance frequency and method.
