The 3M Speedglas 06-0700-81 standard cover protects the top of the head for welders who wear a 9100 FX or 9100 FX-Air helmet. It extends the helmet's protection over the crown of the head, where sparks and spatter fall during position welding or overhead work. The welder stays focused on the bead rather than on scalp burns, and the headband stays cleaner. 3M classes it among the 9100 series accessories and designs it specifically for the FX helmets. Sold individually, in black.
This cover is for welders equipped with an FX helmet in metal fabrication, industrial maintenance, construction and heavy infrastructure projects. It helps during position welding, grinding and assembly, when spatter falls on the head. It also suits shared stations where each person keeps their own cover.
The 06-0700-81 attaches to a 9100 FX or 9100 FX-Air helmet. For the same helmet family, 3M offers the 06-0700-73 side (R06-0700-73) window covers and the 06-0700-54 clear grinding visor (R06-0700-54). For a standard 9100 helmet, choose the 06-0500-51 (06-0500-51) cover instead.
Before each use, check that the cover is properly in place and shows no holes or tears. Replace it as soon as it is burnt, holed or no longer hygienic, so that the covered area remains truly protected.
It is designed for the 9100 FX and 9100 FX-Air helmets. For a standard 9100, 3M offers the 06-0500-51 cover.
