The 3M Speedglas 25-0099-28 face seal equips 9100-Air welding helmets. It follows the contours of the face and helps limit the entry of contaminated air into the helmet as part of the air-fed respiratory protection system. Over time, sweat, dust and handling wear it down: a new face seal helps maintain the intended protection and provides pleasant contact on the skin as part of a complete compatible system that is correctly assembled, supplied with air and inspected. Genuine black part sold individually, specific to the 9100-Air and distinct from the 26-0099-28 face seal of the 9100 FX-Air.
The face seal is used to maintain 9100-Air helmets used with an Adflo unit or a breathable air supply in construction, industrial maintenance and heavy infrastructure projects. It accompanies welding, grinding and assembly at stations exposed to fumes. The 3M catalogue advises replacing it at least every 2 months, more often in dirty environments.
The 25-0099-28 face seal fits in the 9100-Air helmet with the air (R25-0400-55) duct. For the 9100 FX-Air helmet, choose the face seal (R26-0099-28).
Before use, check that the face seal is properly in place, without splits or tears. Remove it to clean as needed. Replace it as soon as it is split, torn or no longer hygienic, and at least every 2 months according to the 3M catalogue.
No. The 9100 FX-Air uses the 26-0099-28 face seal; the 25-0099-28 is specific to the 9100-Air.

With the Adflo unit or a breathable air supply connected to the 9100-Air helmet.
With the 9100-Air seal, the Adflo supplies the breathing air; the welder keeps anti-fog Genesis glasses (YAU3200) under the helmet and cotton-lined MIG gloves (G600). Orange high-visibility flame-resistant coveralls (V7705), metatarsal guards (VCMET) and the earmuff (OH505B) complete the outfit.
