The 3M Speedglas 06-0400-53 front part is the forehead band of the 9100 helmet headband: it carries the sweatband and gives the helmet its support on the forehead. When cracked or distorted, it is replaced on its own, without changing the complete (R06-0400-51) headband. Compatible with the 9100, 9100 FX and 9100-Air helmets. Grey, available individually or in a bag of 5 for maintaining several helmets.

The 3M Speedglas 06-0400-53 front part is the forehead band of the 9100 welding helmet headband. It carries the sweatband and rests on the forehead, where the helmet finds its balance. With wear, a cracked or distorted front band makes the helmet tilt and becomes uncomfortable; replacing it alone is often enough to get a stable headband back, without changing the complete assembly. It equips the 9100, 9100 FX and 9100-Air helmets according to 3M. Grey, available individually or in a bag of 5 for maintaining a fleet of helmets.

Replacing the front band of a welding helmet

The front part is used to maintain 9100 helmets in construction, industrial maintenance, fabrication and heavy infrastructure projects. It accompanies long days of welding, grinding and assembly, where forehead comfort matters. The bag of 5 lets you restore several headbands during the same maintenance round.

Assembly with the pivots and sweatband

The 06-0400-53 front part attaches to the pivots (R06-0400-52) and the ratchet rear part (R06-0400-54); the three parts make up the complete (R06-0400-51) headband. The sweatband (R46-0200-54) fits on this front band.

Inspecting the forehead support before welding

Inspect the front band at each use: no cracks, no distortion. Wash it with lukewarm water and mild soap, without solvents, and change the sweatband as soon as it is no longer hygienic. Replace the front part as soon as it is cracked or distorted.

The welder adjusting the headband keeps Astro OTG eyewear (YAU2500) under the helmet and Endura goatskin and Kevlar gloves (G625). A flame-resistant sweater (V340), Proban sleeves (VS23) and the earmuff (OH505B) complete the outfit.
