Tack welding is hard on the eyes: the arc keeps starting and stopping, and the filter has to follow every restart. The G5TW 46-0000-30TW includes a tack welding mode designed for these closely repeated arcs, to preserve visual comfort from one tack to the next. With its light state 2.5, Natural Colour technology and welding shades from 8 to 13, it gives a clear view of the joint and its surroundings, before and during welding. Cutting mode 5, 4 sensors and 5 sensitivity settings complete a versatile filter. Sold as one unit, it equips a G5 helmet or replaces its optics.
The G5TW fits the G5-01 (RG501) helmet and the G5-03 Pro, Pro Air and E helmets. Its inner face takes the 06-0200-40 (RG5TW-VC) anti-fog cover; on the outside, the G5 instructions specify the 06-0200-51, 06-0200-52 and 06-0200-53 plates. It is a filter of choice for metal fabrication and processing, especially where a lot of tacking is done.
Engage the G5TW in the welding shield and refit the covers specified for this filter. Set the shade and recovery delay for the job, try the mode control, then check arc detection before use.
Keep the sensors and clear surfaces clean for reliable detection. A pitted cover is replaced separately while the filter stays in service. If darkening becomes irregular, check the battery and settings according to the instructions before resuming welding.
This filter is not suitable for laser welding or cutting, or for processes requiring a shade greater than 13.
Set the shade according to the process and current, as shown in the instructions. At the slightest darkening fault, stop welding and check the filter.
It is designed for the closely repeated arcs of tack welding, making successive arc starts more comfortable for the eyes.

The G5-01 and compatible G5-03 helmets. The model name is marked on your helmet: check it before ordering.
The 06-0200-40 anti-fog cover, shared by G5TW and G5VC filters.
The G5TW favours tack welding and a light state of 2.5; the G5VC offers variable colour in the dark state and goes up to shade 14.
With the G5TW fitted to a G5-01 helmet used with Adflo, the welder wears clear Privo glasses (YA12261) and Endura split-leather gloves (G603). Laser Lite earplugs (OA1101) provide hearing protection. For work clothing, choose a flame-resistant ARC 2 coverall (V1765) or an orange flame-resistant FR-Tech shirt (V130) with complementary garments suited to workplace hazards.
The filter equips the G5-01 (RG501) helmet, with an anti-fog (RG5TW-VC) plate behind it and a heat (R06-0200-53) plate in front. The holder (R46-0680-00) takes a magnifying lens when the work calls for a closer view. The hinges (R46-0400-56) are also among the components to inspect during maintenance of the same welding helmet.
