The 3M Speedglas 07-0200-51 standard outside cover is the everyday wear part for the Speedglas 100 helmet. Fitted in front of the filter, it takes the sparks and spatter so the filter stays in good condition. Sold in a bag of 10, it keeps spares at the workstation and restores a clear view as soon as the plate gets marked. For the 100V filter, also consider the inside (R04-0290-00) cover.
No returnable if used. For more information about our return policy, please refer to the Orders and Returns.

For routine maintenance of a Speedglas 100 helmet, the 07-0200-51 is the plate to keep on hand. As the standard version of the outside protection, it forms a replaceable clear surface in front of the filter and takes the hits in its place: sparks, spatter, dust. When it pits or scratches, you change it, and the joint becomes clear again without replacing the filter. With its bag of 10, it lets you prepare the helmet before the next weld, workstation by workstation. For special needs, the series also offers a scratch-resistant version and a high-temperature version.
The 07-0200-51 equips Speedglas 100 helmets and their filters, including the 100V. It pairs with the inside (R04-0290-00) cover, which protects the other side of that filter. The 07-0200-52 scratch-resistant and 07-0200-53 high-temperature plates are the two other outside options in the series, each for its own use.
Remove the Speedglas 100 front frame as described in its instructions, then replace the plate. Set the frame back in its clips and check that the plate covers the whole filter.
To judge the condition of the plate, look through it at a well-lit area, away from welding. If pits, deep scratches or dirt persist after cleaning, fit a new plate. Keep spares in their bag so they stay spotless.
The 07-0200-51 protects the filter, which in turn provides arc protection in the complete helmet. A split plate must be changed before resuming work.
The 07-0200-51 covers routine maintenance of the series 100 helmet. The 07-0200-52 and 07-0200-53 versions meet special needs: a surface more exposed to scratches or high-temperature work.
Speedglas 100 helmets, notably with the 100V filter.
The bag holds 10 outside covers, handy for equipping several workstations or planning replacements ahead.
When your view stays blurred despite gentle cleaning, or pits interfere with reading the weld, it is time to fit a new one.
Yes, a Speedglas magnifier fits the series 100 helmet with the 07-0680-00 holder made for that purpose.
Under the welding helmet, the welder wears Zenith eyewear (YAZ200) with prescription glasses and leather gloves (G605) for handling the workpiece. An orange flame-resistant ARC 2 coverall (V1765) covers the torso and legs. Laser Lite earplugs (OA1101) or H6B earmuffs (OPH6B) provide hearing protection options to select according to the other equipment being worn.
To maintain the same 100 helmet, choose the hard-coat (R07-0200-52) plate or the heat (R07-0200-53) version for the outside face of the filter. The inside (R04-0290-00) cover protects the face towards the wearer. The holder (R07-0680-00) takes a magnifier (R06-0500-57) when the job calls for a closer view of details on the workpiece.
