The Peakworks CSK1-60 is a complete confined space rescue and fall protection system that combines a 7 ft (2 m) aluminum tripod, a 60 ft (18 m) galvanized steel self-retracting lifeline (SRL), and all hardware required for immediate personnel protection. The SRL mounting bracket is factory-installed prior to shipping, so your crew can deploy the system in minutes upon arrival on site. Engineered by Peakworks — a leading Canadian fall protection manufacturer — this kit is built to perform in harsh industrial and northern climates with an operating temperature range of −35°C to +35°C.
The Peakworks series aluminum tripod features independently adjustable and lockable legs that adapt to uneven surfaces such as manhole frames, sloped floors, or raised thresholds. Non-slip rubber safety feet on each leg prevent lateral movement under load. The steel head is equipped with a safety chain and two independent attachment points, allowing simultaneous connection of the SRL and a secondary safety device or backup lifeline — a critical feature when rapid extraction of an incapacitated worker is required.
The included V845630060LE (SRL-73302-60) self-retracting lifeline offers a 4:1 mechanical advantage, enabling a single rescuer to recover an unconscious worker without additional assistance. The average retrieval speed of 25 ft (7.6 m) per minute is compatible with rapid-intervention protocols required by confined space rescue programs. The combined SRL capacity is 151 kg (310 lb), accounting for the weight of the person, tools, and work clothing.
Materials were chosen for their long-term durability in industrial environments: stainless steel for friction-bearing components and high-strength aluminum for the structural frame. This combination provides effective resistance to corrosion from moisture, industrial chemicals, and the freeze-thaw cycles common on Canadian work sites. The result is lower maintenance costs and extended service life compared to all-steel alternatives.
The complete kit is designed to move from job site to job site thanks to its light weight and compact footprint. Setup takes just a few minutes for a single person without special tools. The factory pre-mounted SRL bracket eliminates a critical assembly step that is often a source of field error.
The CSK1-60 meets and exceeds OSHA, CE, ANSI A10.14, CSA Z359.1, and CSA Z259.2.2 Type 3 standards. This dual North American and European compliance ensures acceptance of the equipment during regulatory inspections and simplifies OHS documentation.
Before each use, perform a thorough visual inspection of the tripod (legs, feet, locking mechanisms), safety chain, head attachment points, and the SRL (cable, retraction mechanism, shock indicator). Position the tripod directly over the access opening, ensuring all three legs are firmly planted and locked. Secure the safety chain to limit leg spread. Connect the SRL to the top anchor point and verify proper engagement of the locking mechanism before the worker descends. In accordance with CSA Z1006, the entire system must be inspected annually by a qualified competent person, with documented preventive maintenance records. Final sale — non-returnable product.
A Type 3 SRL (CSA Z259.2.2 designation) is specifically engineered for confined space retrieval: it incorporates an assisted ascent function with a 4:1 mechanical advantage, enabling one rescuer to recover a victim without additional help. Standard SRLs (Types 1 or 2) provide fall arrest only, without retrieval capability. The CSK1-60 includes a 60 ft (18 m) Type 3 SRL.
No. The Type 3 SRL in the CSK1-60 is rated for personnel rescue only (combined capacity: 151 kg / 310 lb including person + equipment). For material lowering, a separate man/material winch must be added — for example the V84537065 (MW-65G). This winch is included in the FPLRK2 and FPLRK3 kits.
The Peakworks TR-series tripod is designed for single-person installation. Its aluminum construction and leg-locking system simplify field deployment. That said, CSA Z1006 recommends a minimum of two people during any confined space operation: one worker inside and one attendant outside.
To optimize your confined space protection, see the confined space kit with man/material winch 65 ft (FPLRK2), the all-in-one 3-way SRL 60 ft and combo kit with winch (FPLRK3), the davit 3-way 60 ft system for offset access with winch (FPLRK4), the standalone Peakworks tripod 7 ft (2 m) with chain and pulley (FPLRKT) and the Koala Behr universal harness with quick-connect buckles, class A (FPH2000A).
Under "Accessories" at the bottom of the page, complete your setup with the Peakworks confined space Y-yoke lanyard (FPLRKL), the DBI-SALA 3M tripod base mount support (FPLR8005048) and the DBI-SALA 3M Advanced carry bag for 7 ft tripod (FPLR9503094).
