The 3M Versaflo M-975N cover complements M-407 headgear in a radiant heat assembly. At foundry stations, it prepares thermal equipment using pre-oxidized aramid fabric with an outer aluminium coating. The cover is sold alone and must be fitted with the M-961N over-visor frame and M-967N gold coated tinted over-visor. It includes neither a hard hat nor a visor and does not replace the headgear's respiratory elements. Inspection of the textile, seams and coating forms part of preparation before use.
The corresponding headgear is the M-407. Fit the M-975N cover with the M-961N over-visor frame and M-967N gold coated tinted over-visor following the thermal assembly instructions. The hard hat, visor and respiratory elements remain separate components from the cover sold.
This cover serves foundry and assembly stations where the M-407 requires the intended radiant heat assembly. Select respiratory equipment and eye protection for the task's separate hazards. These radiant heat accessories are not intended for welding applications.
Verify M-407 identification before installing the M-975N. Prepare the required M-961N over-visor frame and M-967N gold coated tinted over-visor, position the cover and check assembly according to 3M instructions. Then check the headgear and respiratory system before work.
This cover is not intended for M-100/M-200 headgear or welding applications. Do not exceed the permissible operating temperature of any respiratory system component. Storage temperatures are not operating temperatures. Fabric tests must not be presented as a guarantee against burns. They do not certify the separately sold hard hat or visor. The cover provides no respiratory filtration.
Care consists of wiping the cover only according to directions. Check the fabric, seams and coating before use without repairing a damaged part. Shelf life is 1 year in the original packaging with inspection before each use. Store between -30 and 50 °C at humidity below 90 %. Replace the cover when its condition requires it rather than extending use through repair.
The M-407 is the intended headgear. Verify that model before fitting and follow the prescribed thermal assembly.
It covers the cover alone. Arrange the M-961N over-visor frame and M-967N gold coated tinted over-visor along with the headgear and other required components.
No. Radiant heat accessories are not designed for that function.
Replace it without repair. Permitted care is wiping according to instructions with inspection of the fabric, seams and coating.
Use 1 year in the original packaging. Inspect before each use and do not confuse shelf life with a service duration guarantee.
For a technician preparing the M-975N cover and making an outdoor delivery away from heat, plan bronze lens Nemesis glasses (YA3304) for phases outside the headgear. The mask (R8293) with Cool Flow valve concerns another respiratory task selected separately. A women's orange 15-pocket survey vest (V6692F) supports site movement, and orange waterproof overalls (VP5627) address weather during travel. EPT999 barrier casters (EPT999R) serve to move that existing receiving area barrier. These delivery garments are not foundry thermal protection.
Headgear (RM407) is the intended support. For headgear care, the extended durability outer shroud (RM448) OR flame resistant (RM447) shroud remain separate configuration choices. Suspension (RM350) serves M-300 and M-400 supports. If your headgear is an M-307, the corresponding shield (RM973N) is the corresponding cover instead. These elements do not replace the M-961N over-visor frame and M-967N gold coated tinted over-visor required for the thermal assembly.
