The 3M Versaflo S-665 assembly pairs an inner collar hood with a hard hat to prepare equipment for cleaning, painting and assembly. The S-605 polypropylene coated nonwoven polypropylene hood comes with the S-960 adapter and H-701SFR-UV hard hat. The textile can be replaced while keeping its role distinct from that of the reusable support. Before shop use, an approved tube and air supply must complete this assembly, which provides no filtration by itself.
Cleaning and mechanical assembly stations in general manufacturing or transportation are among the uses to assess. Pharmaceutical and chemical settings are also listed, with air supply selected according to the hazard. For painting, do not infer vapour protection from the textile or hard hat; it depends on the complete respiratory system.
The S-665 includes S-605, S-960 and H-701SFR-UV. It is a hard hat assembly without an S-950 suspension to add. The tube and air supply must belong to the approved combination. NIOSH approval concerns the complete system without assigning a protection factor to the hood alone.
Fit S-960 and S-605 following the H-700 hard hat instructions. Wear the brim facing backwards and adjust the ratchet. Check inner collar positioning and the respiratory connection before testing the combination. Do not add hard hat accessories not approved with S-960.
Do not use this system in atmospheres containing less than 19.5% oxygen, with unknown contaminant concentrations, or that are immediately dangerous to life or health (IDLH). The S-605 does not filter air. It is not intended for high heat, flames or sparks and is not rated fluid resistant. The S-960 assembly provides no electrical protection. ANSI/ISEA Z89.1-2014, Type I and CSA Z94.1-15, Type I concern H-700 hard hat impact protection in the described configuration.
Before use, check the inner collar, textile and visor, then the hard hat and adapter. Replace a soiled or damaged hood. Clean reusable elements according to their instructions and check attachments before refitting the textile. Keep spare parts clean during storage. The absence of natural rubber latex applies to S-series hoods.
The S-605 inner collar hood, S-960 adapter and H-701SFR-UV hard hat. The tube and air supply remain to be selected.
No. This configuration uses S-960 and the supplied hard hat. Do not combine this assembly with S-950 suspension.
The S-605 is the corresponding replacement hood. Inspect the hard hat and adapter before reusing them with new textile.
No. It is not intended for sparks, flames or high heat. Choosing a hard hat does not change that textile limitation.
No. The hood, S-960 and H-700 hard hat combination provides no electrical hazard protection.
For a technician preparing the inner collar hood before checking an outdoor installation, plan winter gloves (GS18WTFN) with nitrile foam coating and a waterproof membrane for cold handling. Cee Tec glasses (YA12E93103) with yellow lenses serve outside the hood. An Americana climbing style helmet (TA222) remains separate equipment from the supplied assembly. The high visibility traffic worker shirt (VV17) and warning line (EFLAC) with pennants organize movement around the worksite.
For assembly replacements, the hood (RS605) renews the textile and the adapter (RS960) replaces the corresponding support. If the task calls for another textile choice, the hard hat (RS867) assembly uses an S-807 sealed seam hood. For a configuration without a hard hat, the suspension (RS855) assembly pairs an inner collar with reusable suspension. The industrial (RVTR600IHK) kit provides a separate powered configuration with a hard hat; select these alternatives as complete assemblies.
